This thing is a beast, don't waste money on other coolers
Sleek looking cooler with nice sized fans for high cooling capacity. This thing runs COLD it has 0 issues keeping up with my wife's gaming PC and she loves this setup for looks and functionality. Would definitely recommend this cooler to anyone looking for a functional and reliable cooler with a high level of quality that fits on any CPU template.By far the best bang for your buck when it comes to fan cooling, which have far out performed AIOs today

Cools an AMD Ryzen 5950x CPU
Moved from an AMD Ryzen 3700x to a Ryzen 5950x CPU. The 5950x CPU states to use a AIO for cooling. However, I don't really trust AIO because of the potential of water leaks. Also I didn't want to trust using the stock cooler from the 3700x. It seemed like a recipe for disaster since the 3700x is 65watts and the 5950x is 105watts.After doing a lot of research, mainly YouTube, the Thermalright Peerless Assassin seemed like the best fit for the price.Something things to consider before buying:1. This heatsink is "MASSIVE". (I also have a Cooler Master 212 for different build and the Peerless Assassin looks twice the size.) The motherboard and case needs to provide a lot of unused real estate around the CPU. I had to change the "push air" through the fins to an "extract heat" from the fins so that the fans did not interfere with the memory sockets. Moving from a "push" to "extract" could have change cooling but the CPU temp is still within a respectable 65 degrees during game play (using Riva Tuner)2. You need to be comfortable, which most DIY are, to do some mods on the mother board. Mainly removing the standard cooler brackets from the mother board and install the included brackets. Installation of the brackets seem easy, and installation of the cooler was also easy.3. The cooler did come with some Thermalright thermal paste. However, I would suggest buying one of their name brand paste or an equivalent name brand like Thermal Grizzly. I really doubt that the included paste is the same quality as Thermalright TF7 or TF9 paste.

Top tier air cooling
The media could not be loaded. Amazing cooling and the fans have addressable rgb. Used on 9800x3d and 9950x3d and temps always stayed stable and never passed 50 even under heavy load. Didn’t get the chance to test temps when overclocked as I changed to a waterblock for aesthetic purposes. The only difficulty I had was mounting the screws onto the motherboard as it’s hard to see if it’s making contact on the threats and you need to apply pressure against the springs. Otherwise a great choice.

Do not buy the SE for LGA-2011, buy the original! Great cooler!
Does not support LGA-2011! Techinally my fault for not noticing the SE does not support it while the original does. I would assume functionality would be kept, not removed. I did eventually mount it with zip ties, and despite the mediocre pressure they apply it still cools a 200W TDP 18 core Xeon enough to have no issues.

Best air cpu cooler on the market
Using this on a b650/7800x3d and it runs cool as a cucumber even oc'd under heavy load. If you dont wanna mess with a liquid cooler this is the one you want!

Turns out what people have said is true!
Like many people i bought this after seeing Gamer's Nexus and many people rave about it for the money. I moved from a Ryzen 3700x where i could use the stock cooler just fine to a 12900k and knew that i probably needed a decent cooling solution, but didnt really want to drop $100+ on a decent AIO.The short of it is that under Cinebench Multicore, this thing keeps the 12900k at or below 88-91*C, which from what i understand is completely fine for a heavy workload. When rendering in premiere at 100% CPU usage, i dont think i've seen temps really climb above 65-75 much at all, and during normal editing the chip is even cooler and i dont hear the fans. I can get the chip to throttle with an extremely aggressive Prime95 load, but that's really not representative of any real world usage, even heavy usage. It's a torture test mainly useful for making sure a system is stable under the absolute worst conditions. It will depend on your chassis most likely what temps you get. I have a Corsair 4000d airflow, which is a solid case and i do have six 120mm fans - 3 intake and 3 outake.I was pleasantly surprised with the aesthetics of this. I've always kind of dreaded getting a dual tower because i thought they looked bulky and ugly. My first cooler was that old Coolermaster 212, and that thing WAS ugly. The black on the top makes this thing look actually really cool in the case, especially with the ARGB which i was very easily able to control via Asus Armory Crate. A bit imposing yes, but i personally like it, and i dont think it's much bigger than any other dual tower that can tame hot chips.installation on intel 1700 was really pretty much a breeze. You'll want to route and ideally zip tie the fan and RGB cables before putting it in your case. Having to mess with the RGB cables once it's installed is really a pain, but that's typical of RGB connectors in general, which like to unhook at every given opportunity. I recommend a small piece of gaff or other tape to keep the connectors connected.Really blown away by this in general.

Looks good and functions
It looks good and seems to be working. I got this along with the new CPU that runs different temperatures than what I'm used to so I can't speak for how well it works but all the reviews online say cooler is fantastic.I will say on a b650 tomahawk motherboard that it will be sitting over the RAM with little clearance so you probably do not want to use this with that motherboard on a build that has taller RAM probably with lights on them.
