My Best Ever Smart Phone
I've owned my Lumia 950 since December. When I first bought it the operating system had quite a few bugs which effected performance and battery life (most of these were fixed by Microsoft earlier this year). After 8 months use I am happy to say the Lumia 950 is the best phone I have ever owned. The windows 10 interface is fast and very easy to learn. Because Microsoft has merged tablet, PC and Phone operating systems I only need to learn one new system for all my devices. What a great idea. The camera has a dedicated button, my pictures are superb quality and close up's are very detailed. My videos are no longer shaky due to camera stabilisation and sound is recorded in high quality stereo. The screen is superb high resolution, clear and bright. I have set the brightness to auto as this seems to give the best battery life. Battery life is the best I have ever had with a smartphone. I’ve just installed the latest Windows phone anniversary update and now get over 2 days with light use. I did google how to improve the 950 battery life and turned off un-needed background applications via the battery settings. I also set my 5 email accounts to download every 15 minutes to an hour depending on importance (instead of always on). The Groove music player works well - at last I have a decent music player for Windows phone. I downloaded 30 GB of music and can listen without streaming (although streaming music works just as well when connected with Wi-Fi and with Radio tunes - my favourite paid for music service). I have fitted a fast 64 GB micro SD card to store music, videos and pictures. Bluetooth has always been 100% reliable - I have paired with several cars, keyboards and speakers without issue. One Note and One drive are really useful - synchronising notes and files with my phone, laptop and work/home PC. Fast charging makes my life so much easier as I can know I last a day of light use on a fast 1 hour charge. I don’t have access to all the apps of google and apple due to the lack of developer support for Windows but this has not been a problem for me personally. I have found apps for all my daily needs. It did take a while for Microsoft to bug fix Windows 10 mobile but the current version is 100% stable on my phone. I do reboot the phone every couple of weeks but am not sure if this is necessary. Any new owners please note, as with all modern smart phones, it will take quite a while to install the latest updates you have to be patient. I am so impressed I am finally going to buy a Bright Blue Mozo cover. I hope you find this review helpful I think the Lumia 950 is a fantastic phone and a bargain at its current price. I use my phone for both work and personal use.

Great Smartphone and OS, a very nice aternative to iOS
Ordered this phone as I always wanted to try a Windows Phone, and I was slowly getting bored by my iPhone. This phone was a breeze in my boredom. The screen is super sharp and bright, the camera makes very good quality pictures and I like the idea of the phone taking living images whenever it detects movement in my pictures. The W10 Mobile OS is nice to use and the live tiles bring life to your phone even when you're not using it. The iris scanner works quite well, recognizing me most of the time except for the few odd cases where there's a big light reflecting on my glasses. The wireless charging is a nice extra feature. To be honest, I haven't suffered too much from the app gap so far. I found almost all my iOS apps available on W10, except the few very specific ones. No problems finding music, banking, social apps. Sure, some can be a bit outdated compared to the iOS versions, but they do the job very well. Also MS has secured a few partnerships recently so we should finally see long desired apps starting to come in the next few months. W10 Mobile is relatively stable, which is unexpected when I remember my experience when I first installed W10 on my tablet. So far I have only experienced the odd bug once in a while. I must say when I read other comments about the cheap look of the plastic cover I was expecting something terrible, but in the end even if I bough one of the Mozo covers I still prefer the original one as it looks quite nice and the feel of plastic brings back the memory of the old days. It can even be practical, I mean it gives a good grip on the phone, and is less easily conducting heat/cold than metal so you won't necessarily get burned when your phone is heating while playing the latest games. To summarize, I'm very happy with my purchase so far after 1 month of use, and I definitively recommend this smartphone even to previous iOS/Android users!

Very good, and getting better!
Any review of the Windows 10 mobile needs to acknowledge that the OS and apps are being updated frequently, so improvements and features are being added. My review is based on the Insider Preview of Windows 10 mobile (the .63 build) with the latest 950 firmware installed too. What I like - Screen size and resolution. The 950 is the ideal size for me, and the super hi-resolution screen (>500 ppi) ensure text and pictures and bright and clear. I've upped the text scaling to 130% just so text remains clear when I don't have my glasses on. This helps with text lists such as the Settings menu Glance screen, until you have this you don't realise how useful it is to have the screen show alerts for messages etc. without consuming battery. Fast charge and Qi charging. The Type C USB means a full charge is about 60 mins with the included mains power pack. I found the 950 works fine with cheap Qi charging pucks off Ebay, no need to pay top £ for branded Qi units. Again, very useful to have these and IIRC Ikea is now including Qi in some tables. Navigation controls on screen (back/home/search) - I was a bit wary of not having proper buttons in the bezel, however these on-screen controls work OK and re-orientate when the phone is in landscape mode which is useful. The speaker is loud and clear which is ideal for impromptu teleconferences with several people around a table Micro SD Card support - I used a 32GB card and set the phone to store videos and photos on the card. No problems with a Sandisk card. Integration with Windows 10. Features likes Windows desktop Cortana announcing a missed call on the phone and typing text messages on the desktop which the phone then sends I find very useful. That said, if you're a hold-out against Cortana, OneDrive, etc. then this phone isn't for you as much of the value comes from integration with cloud services. Also, I replaced the case back with a Mozo unit. Not because I thought the case looked cheap, just it's so slim I wanted a case with rubber-coated sides to avoid the phone flipping out my hand! Just to add, swapped for a 64GB Samsung memory card which worked fine. I was pleased that Groove Music indexes and play FLAC lossless music files, including hi-rez files at 24/192!

Great phone. Awful customer service
The phone itself deserves 4/5. It works well, the screen and camera are terrific, and I personally enjoy the gimmicky iris scanner. As a warning to fellow purchasers: you will be delighted so long as your phone works perfectly. However, Microsoft have, in my experience so far, absolutely abhorrent customer service. Pray you have no faults!

Lumia 950
OK for a Windows aficionado like me, BUT you can only install apps via the sparsely populated Windows Phone Store (NOT any Windows desktop installation package you like) - upside of this is that you shouldn't need to run A/V software, but makes a joke of the 32GB SD card I bought to go with it. Also the Outlook app started running into problems after a couple of weeks (a much reported problem, it seems) where Outlook would only display the last day or two's emails (and certainly none of the folder structure that you've created on Outlook desktop). Well, at the end of the day I suppose it's a damn phone, not a PC. Upside was that it's dual sim - hurrah, some good news!. Downside is that none of the issues are going to get fixed. Maybe we have to scour the WindowsPhone apps site before it possibly shrinks terminally by the end of 2019? This is nevertheless a superb piece of hardware.

The third alternative. Amazing camera. Great after support. Great GUI with Live Tiles.
I've had this phone since January. I still miss Symbian, it was a great, simple OS, but Microsoft Windows Mobile and Live Tiles are still a worthy competitor. I've tried Android and iOS and I just can't stand them. The after support from Microsoft has been fantastic. My phone stopped charging in the US, so I took it to the Microsoft shop, they tried to recharge it but couldn't. So they just gave me a brand new phone, then are there, despite having a UK phone. I also had a problem with my Surface Pro, with that not charging, they replaced that free of charge as well, then and there. I love Live Tiles, they give you information, LIVE, without having to go into an app. Each tile has 3 sizes, small (icon size), medium (x4 tiles), and large which is something like x8. The OS still needs refinement, but Microsoft is constantly refining it, and the OS is getting better with each update. Some people complain about apps, but even when I have used Android or iOS there were hardly any apps I used. I actually find a lot of Android or iOS apps just annoying. I just like to go online to the website the old fashioned way. But it does have Windows Here/Microsoft Maps included, which gives you free offline maps, with turn by turn directions. The hardware is pretty good was well. It is pretty responsive and fast. The camera is pretty amazing, the pictures it takes are pretty phenomenal. I have taken many photos which look like DSLR quality, and people don't believe me when I have told them that was taken on my phone, with NO editing. The camera software needs a lot of improvement in my opinion though. They need more lens options, such as fisheye or panorama, which were removed by MS (they had it on the Nokia phones). One of the constant irates of mine with the camera is if you have taken lots of photos in a short period of time (lets say 30 seconds), the camera software/hardware is still trying to process the previous photos and you can only take 1 or 2 photos before it tells you processing the other photos, or sometimes it won't allow you take any thing until it's finished. Sometimes I have waited 5-10 minutes before taking a burst of photos. In hot temperatures 30c+, the phone starts going a bit awol, and the screen and camera get too hot so you can't use the phone (it shuts off). The battery life is nothing fantastic, but the fact that it has fastcharge with the wall adaptor, you can from Zero to Hero in minutes. I've managed to go from 0 battery to 80% battery in about 20 minutes, and 0 battery to 50% in 10 minutes. You have to use the wall charger to get that charging speed. The look of the phone is nothing extraordinary, and is kind of bland, and simple for what is meant to be a flagship device.

A great phone, takes some learning to get the hang of
I was originally sent the 950 XL by Microsoft in order to test, but I found it to be too large for my liking, so I ordered this model. I have really enjoyed using this phone so far, but the menu and setting navigation takes some getting used too, plus a lot of internet research is required in order to find where different settings exist. The screen is wonderful (quad HD, so i would expect so) but I do find a slight delay in the touch response, but there is the ability to re-calibrate the screen, so this may resolve the problem. Downloading and installing updates and apps is lighting fast (again, with a hexa-core processor, I would expect so), but this phone does get HOT during such activities, otherwise, the phone does stay cool. Microsoft are aware of this and are issuing updates regularly. Windows Hello is a cool feature for unlocking the phone, and seems to work flawlessly for me so far, despite the feature only being in beta. The buttons on the side could sit a little more proud for my liking, but it isn't worth removing a star over. There are some user settings that require looking in to as they can negatively impact user experience, for example, the wi-fi turning itself back on by default after 1 hour (draining battery) unless changed to manual. Again, some exploring and internet research is required. I did overlook the fact that this phone requires a Nano Sim rather than the Micro Sim in my old Lumia 800, but this isn't an issue as Vodafone have sent me a new Nano Sim free of charge. Overall a good phone, but it takes some learning, since I have already had Lumia Phones, and I was lucky enough to test a phone within this range previously, i'm not finding it too difficult to get to grips with. If you are buying this phone coming from a different operating system (Android etc) or are not particularly technical, the learning curve may be somewhat steep. Overall, I'm enjoying the phone, I like the interface; nice big squares I can tap rather than stupid tiny icons on Apple or Android, some cool features (windows Hello, plugging into a PC to become Windows 10 desktop), and since the phone is less mainstream than most phones, it serves as a talking point with other phone/tech enthusiasts.

great phone, recommend
I've had this phone for about 2 months and it is working well, especially after a couple of big updates pros: - phone feels slim and light in my hand. - the grip is good, but only after buying a mozo leather back cover - call quality is good. I struggled with this before for some reason - the facial recognition works well, but it seems to require practice - live tiles are smart. The user interface of other phones seem dated and incoherent in comparison, even the more expensive ones which over engineer a poor design - dropped it a couple of times and I can say the build quality is very good. There is a tiny plastic band around the glass (which makes it practically bezel free) that seems to do its job and help absorb impact. - and the camera is nice cons: - battery life needs watching - phone still gets hot sometimes - need to buy a back cover for wireless charging and to smarten it up. The phone looks "bare" in its original cover - lack of apps ( the essential apps seem to be covered)

prodotto guasto e brandizzato

Gute Qualität in allen technischen Bereichen.

Great affordable phone not requiring to give your privacy away to Apple
Phone works superbly as a phone, for 'Skyping' work and friends, text messaging, internet, and hot spot services. What I like best is not knowingly giving Apple one darn bit of my personal information. Phone works great as equipped, and if enabled, will synch with your work or home Windows desktop and browsers. I chose not to utilize such options and it is easy for me to opt out in an understandable manner nor requiring me to read 30 -60 pages of contractual junk.
