The first time I took one was when I was feeling painfully bloated before my period started. After 15 mins I farted once every 3 minutes for the next hour, and boy did I feel better. They only work IF the problem is gas - they won't remove bloating from water retention. Good value for money, similar size to a Rennie and easy to swallow.For anyone trying these after laparoscopic / keyhole surgery - I tried these after a keyhole surgery to try and help release the leftover gas in the pelvic cavity, which was causing a lot of discomfort and pain in my right shoulder. These do NOT directly remove that gas (CO2) as there is no direct escape from there into the digestive tract. The only way gas gets out of the cavity is through the blood vessels lining its walls, and the process can be sped up by (safely) increasing heart rate, through gentle movement.
