Adjustable Back Rest - SmitCare Bed Support

Had major surgery and could not lie flat to sleep for a number of weeks afterwards and this was an absolute godsend when I can home. Uninterrupted nights sleep - pure heaven. My sister then tore the ligaments in her elbow and was finding it difficult to sleep so have now lent it to her and she is now able to sleep "slanted up"! Item arrived OK and is fine. Only problem it was slightly larger that I expected and takes up more than my half of the bed. It is solid and stable enough for me as I am larger person. Its perfect for sitting up in bed and acting as a support.

I found the reviews left by others extremely helpful in making the decision to make this purchase. I have a couple of nasty fractures to my upper right arm and have to sleep at a 45 degree angle. I found this virtually impossible on stacked pillows and still didn't get any sleep. In desperation for sleep and to aid the healing process, I bought this backrest. It has been a Godsend to me! It is very well made, strong and sturdy. It holds me at the right angle all through the night and above all else, I am able to sleep! I think this backrest is a real find and great value for money. What price can you put on sleep?

I bought this and the triangular shaped blocks as I have sciatica & the pain in my leg has been so bad that sleeping or lying in bed has been a nightmare ! This product came today took a but longer than expected but anyway I tried it straight away and its much better than piling heaps of pillows on top of each other as it doesn't provide the type of support u need. This back rest has various easy to use/change positions whether you require to be completely upright or flat which clicks into place fairly easily.The only thing I would say is its a bit too hard to use on its own, I personally put pillows in top& its fine now as you want comfort as well as support.Done type if back padded support like what you get for chairs which I've seen on here would be ideal just so you have that softness.Also because you are erect it is important if you have sciatica or similiar to have something to rest&support your legs that's why I bought the blocks but I didnt receive then yet so I will comment on them when I get them.Overall I would say its a good price if your looking for an easy to use back rest that gives firm support.I personally think its fine for me but requires additional pillows or padding of sorts as it is quit hard on its own.Good for anyone that has cane out of hospital, recovering , ill or just anyone who wants done support eating breakfast in bed!! Handy things regardless,just wish it was a but more padded.Hope this helps anyone

Not as advertised or as seen on the picture. The one I’ve received is 5cm shorter than the one in description. For that reason not overly happy and hence 2* instead of 5. There are other differences too but I’m OK to put up with those.Quick delivery though. Packaging damaged– most likely by the courier - and exposing the product. Paint chipped where one of the arms ends.Bought it as back support for the beach. At the moment does mediocre job (again a little bit too short and those missing 5 cm would come very handy).Lack of possibility to take the fabric off of the frame and wash. Design failure (?!)This is 2nd time I receive product different from description and/or picture.Would Amazon kindly do something about those sellers who advertise their products under someone else’s picture/description? I should be able to receive what I’ve ordered and paid for not a substitute.

I bought this for my dad quite a few months ago, he's ill and in bed almost all of the time which had resulted in his spine fusing together, he was reluctant to use this at first and with a bit of encouragement he now uses it all of the time and it seems to have helped with his back a lot and is very sturdy

This won my money on both price and design. I had to sleep upright-ish on a recent camping trip and this worked fine. I did have to fix the back of the tubular metal so it didn't keep slipping away from me at the back of the tent, so a pair of wellies wedged under it did that trick!It is strong and adjustable. In a normal bed at home, if it butted-up against a solid headboard or wall it obviously would not move away from you, however its depth would move you substantially down the bed because it takes up space. Even if you have the item firmly fixed at headboard level, you can still slide downwards off it unless it is in its vertical position, so some sort of footboard would help.A sturdy and well-designed piece of kit.
