Fifth Avenue Crystal Wellington Whiskey Decanter

I bought this as a gift for a friend for Christmas. This decanter looks great displayed in my friend's bar. However, I removed a star as there was some glass chipped on the plug right where it is supposed to seal with the base. Also, the box (not the shipping box, but the product box inside that) was quite damaged and scrunched everywhere. The top plug came wrapped separately inside the product box so I don't think the chip happened in transit, which means it probably left the factory like that. Either way, it isn't too big of a deal and you can't really see it, but I do think it might affect the seal.

Very nice for the money. Heavy, solid feeling decanter. Looks great among my collection. Nice clear glass, quality stopper, nice packaging. A few bubbles and seams but overall a good looking decanter. I took one star off for the "made in china sticker" and a few minor imperfections. Would buy this brand again though. It's heavy and sparkly. It pours a bit sloppy into a shot glass. Solution? Drink straight from the bottle!!

I use this vessel primarily for my solera style whiskey concoction. I measure out varying amounts of different single malt scotches and let it sit and marry for a few months. Every time I drink some, I add a little of something else back in. It makes for a very complex spirit. This decanter works fantastically, there is no off gassing of ANY spirit and it looks fine with my other vintage crystal. A great deal for a great decanter. Oh and the stopper is frosted glass - there is no rubber or plastic here. Would recommend for anyone looking for quality.

The container itself is beautiful. I indeed did not pay attention to the size when purchasing the item, and when it arrived, it was way bigger and heavier than what I expected. Thus, I can say the price is good for the size. It would be perfect if it was not too heavy.

The only thing I wish this decanter had was a rubber stopperto help seal it better. But for the price and to have it be a glass decanter you really can't find one that looks better with whiskey in it.

This decanter steals the show. It is so very pretty. It has great lines, sparkle and detail. It has a terrific seal for storing the beverage of your choice and is sure to be the star of any decanter collection.

shipping was fast..excited when it arrived, washed it out, filled it with my favorite wine, then saw a few small black spots around top inner edge inside the decanter where the closure fits: washed it again to no avail it first looked like mold but turns out it was embedded inside the glass, (sigh) its a beautiful decanter but for the price...you get what you paid for...

Plan on using this for my Desarrono. Will look perfect in this decanter. The stopper is all glass and appears it will seal very well. If not I'll glue some cork on but I think it will be just fine. Just beautiful and weighty!
