This vacuum pump is well made easy to install works great. Price is reasonable if you have a vehicle with a big cam and power brakes This is the way to go, highly recommend this product.

Installed it this morning and it works. Pumps up to set vacuum and shuts off. Hit brake pedal and it does it again! It’s really quiet too. I hope it lasts. Test run: wow! More brakes than ever. Even before the hot cam. And it looks great.

I purchased this pump because of a low vacuum engine. It works , it averages about 20-22" of vacuum. Brakes are way better. I couldn't mount it to my frame so i cut a little shelf out of 1/4" plexiglass and put that in my trunk sitting on some little bushings I had and mounted the pump along with the bushings that came with it on top . When the pump turns on I hear a little bit however once the car is running can't hear it at all . I think maybe my hardest thing was running and hiding the power wire. It diffenitly works for what I wanted as far as the quality I can't honestly give a answer to that , I'll be back in a year and let you know all about it.

UPDATE: The new part works great. It was inconvenient to return and order a new part, but this second part works perfectly. Might just have been 1 out of 100 that just wasn't right. We all know this happens sometimes. I ordered the pump and installed it correctly. I check the vacuum for leaks and there were no leaks anywhere in the system. The pump will not shut off. It will turn off for a second and turn right back on. There is something wrong with the switch. I tried to exchange the item and had no luck. So i had to settle with returning the item. Now i have to wait for the return to order a replacement.

Exactly what I was looking for,hope it lasts longer than the replacement mechanical vaccum pumps, which don't last more than 10k miles anymore. I have replaced 3 vaccum pumps on my 1991 E350, so hope this one lasts. Install was straight forward and easy. Ran the power wire to a hot lead when key is on, so the pump runs only when the vehicle is running. Old mechanical pump made loud knocking noises when running and got louder when coming apart (failing). This pump is quite enough that you cannot hear it when the engine is running. 7.3l IDI sounds way smoother without the mechanical pump. Good choice to go with this one.

The system was easy enough to install, even though the information pages were barely legible: When the ink is low in the printer, replace the cartridge. The kit was complete, no surprises. The pump is reasonably quiet and worked properly for a short while: cycle on then off a number of times while cycling the brake pedal; as I expected it should. The next day I proceeded to do some more refining of the installation when I again decided to cycle the vacuum system. However, the pump would not shut off on low vacuum, but would run for six to seven seconds, pause for 1/2 of a second and again run for six to seven seconds. It ran for three minutes before I decided to unplug the pump as it was getting very warm. After several minutes I proceeded to pull the check valve from the brake booster and noted a loud and distinct vacuum sound from the booster reservoir, so the pump was producing a deep vacuum. The relay was cycling, so the only item that appears to be not working is the four wire vacuum control switch. There is no service parts availability or contact information associated with this supplier. My advice is to avoid this company until they provide service parts for previous and potential future customers. I could have given them four stars if I had access to those parts. Even the best of companies have those occasional part failure, but don't leave me high and dry with no access to one little part of this vacuum braking system !

UPDATE: After a year of use on my 57 Chevy show car this pump is still going strong. Just fired up the car after a long winter and the brakes worked great. I highly recommend, and I just bought another one for my 68 Camaro with a big cam. Worked great out of the box. Tested it and found this fixed the issue I was having with my low vacuum at idle 327/365 Corvette engine. The power booster wasn’t working properly. Vacuum needs to be above 18” of mercury at idle. This improved my stopping power by 50% and reduced my stopping distance by 1/3rd. Excellent stainless steel bracket and hardware. Mine came with no instructions as the box was opened, but it’s east to put together and mount. No issues so far.

Got this to replace the mechanical vaccumm pump on my diesel truck. The mechanical ones are only lasting about 40,000 miles. This pump was super easy to install and works great. I did use a 1/16 inch thick piece of rubber betweent he pump and the fender I mounted it on. Very quiet. Like an electric fuel pump. I can barely hear it with the engine off. It draws down quick to 24 on my gauge. I will update with milage when I have to replace it. Sooo much easier than replacing the mechanical pump. Update: Almost a year into it and still worked GREAT!
