TW For loss and PTSD
No one tramples my feelings like Kristin Hannah. If you liked The Women there is good chance you will also like this, there is a much stronger thread of a love story here between the FMC and her husband. And she is a combat veteran as opposed to a nurse but many of the themes are the same. There is probably something to be said for the shiny HEA we get at the end, but damnit I cried enough to feel like we earned it. Mind the TWs, she doesn’t pull her punches. I loved this story, like most KH books with character driven plots it was hard to put down.

Valuable lessons
This book was filled with emotions from family love and a military family . I gained much insight into the life of a soldier in a war . It was heart wrenching . It was even more painful to see what the war does to the soldier . Gave me a deeper appreciation for our troops . God bless them and keep them safe .

Kristin Hannah is one of my favorite authors. I have read many of the books and so far each has left me in tears. This one was no exception.

Wonderful
I loved this book but I enjoy every book Kristin Hannah writes. This author seems to catch the reader immediately and your involved in the story and her characters. The author always writes a solid story and I find myself so involved in the story. I can't stop reading until the end. Then I'm so sad I'm leaving the characters behind. Highly recommend

-Great story
I woul.d read it again. Great story and after working with Veterans at the VA, it hits home. They give up so much for us , it made my job, easy giving back to them. We live in the land of the free because of the brave.

This one hits differently…
Okay. I didn’t expect this book to make me cry as much as it did.As a military spouse, I appreciate seeing the raw side of it all. I appreciate making the FMC the military member and the MMC the spouse. I too am dealing with an angsty preteen so I felt so seen with this book.

A tearjerker, but so so good!
I can’t believe I don’t hear anyone talking about this book! I found it after reading The Women and another historical fiction about WWII. I’m so glad I did, too! I would give this 4.5 stars. I love the strong friendship between Tami and Jolene. I could really relate to the way Jolene felt about her marriage, and that often Tami was the only one who saw her true self. And I loved the message of hope that threaded through the story. More people need to be reading and talking about this one!

A new favorite
I have never cried through a book like I did with this one. It was amazing. Firefly Lane has always been my favorite book by Kristin Hannah but I think this one has taken its' place.
