2008 Mazda 3 Cigarette Lighter Replacement
I’ve been wanting to replace my useless cigarette lighter in my 2008 Mazda 3 for a while now but never got around to doing it. I did it in about forty five minutes, I think? And it only took so long because this was my first time ever attempting anything like this and I couldn’t find any tutorials on how to remove the lighter socket for my particular car (but that’s an issue with my car not the product itself). After I managed to (finally) remove the lighter, the charger socket just slipped right in and all I had to do was tighten it on the other end. It comes with two blue terminals to connect the wires to your new socket. Easy! I’ve seen some tutorials where this product is too big for the socket hole of certain cars but it fit mine to a T that I just about laughed at how well things were going. Really, if I had opted to not preserve the original housing for my cigarette lighter (“just in case”) and had just snapped everything out, the whole thing would have taken only ten minutes at the most. After I was done I tested it, and it worked perfectly!I bought the red version and it looks really good with the red lighting in my Mazda 3!

Works Great!
Had to buy a new one of these since the voltmeter on my old one suddenly died and it wasn't really worth the time to troubleshoot it. This looks like a new model where they compensated for the voltage inaccuracy so that's awesome to see! The plastic housing itself does seem a little cheaper though compared to my old one, but that's no big deal really. Also just want to make note the internal USB port configuration remains the same regarding output power. The top connector has the data pins bridged so it will only output 1A for most devices. The bottom port has a resistor circuit on the data pins to emulate a usb 2.0 connection so the 2.1A output should be possible. At quick glance of the numbers on the charging chip inside the unit, it appears to be the same as before so both ports technically could do 2.1 amps output, however since the top port isn't configured that way it's not going to happen. Shady marketing from whoever supplies these, but hey it still gets the job done!

Pretty cool !!
I installed it in a old cigarette lighter hole. You will have to use a 1 1/8th drill bit to complete the job. But way cool on how you can check your charging system. Just remember in different application your stock wiring might be direct off the battery and has power on all the time. Might have to put a switch in or will run down battery.

USB Charger car outlet.... (junk)
Displays car battery voltage which is exactly what I needed for my Jeep Wrangler. And 2 UBS charging ports 2.1 vEdit: JUNK!!!!!Dropping ratings to 1 STAR. This item stopped working after 3 month of usage. I thought it was the digital display that went out, But the USB ports were not charging either. I tested to voltage on the Jeep's harness and the voltage is there but the USB charger stopped working period!

Voltameter is not accurate, reads low.
I purchased one, however the voltameter gave very low readings, inaccurate voltage readings. With all the great reviews, I thought I may have just gotten a bad unit, so I returned it and got another. While the second one did not read as inaccurately as the first, the voltameter reading was still too low.

NOT 2.1A on both ports
This is not 2.1A on both ports; It measures 1A on the top one and 2.1A on the bottom one. The voltmeter seems to be accurate too, so the bummer is it's not what the description says it is but does work if 1A on the top port is sufficient.

Mounts perfectly in BMW E46's broken front console
Stock charger socket on front console of 2001 BMW 325i (E46) mounts in a plastic sleeve that is molded into the console itself - this is a weak spot, which crumbled with age leaving the metal socket's mounting ears with no hold - socket is left annoyingly loose in the console. Trying to insert a plug into the socket just pushesthe socket inside the console. The plastic mounting bracket replacement is about $70, and I wanted to replace the cigarette lighter socket with USB power anyway, so I took some measurements and looked for a USB socket replacement that would mount securely in the hole.As it happens, the fits almost perfectly. The securing collar is a bit of a tight fit on the backside of the broken mounting hole, but I ground off every other plastic "ear" on the collar and got enough working room to tighen it down the last few threads.Mount is solid and secure and looks like it came from the factory - perfect.

Very accurate.
I installed this on my motorcycle side panel. Looks great and it is within .1 VDC of my multimeter reading. So I think it is very accurate. Fast charging worked great too with my Samsung phone. The meter is readable with the cap on and is very bright for daytime viewing. I bought this unit mainly because I like to keep an eye on my bike's battery charge level. There's something draining it and I haven't figured out what is causing it yet. By monitoring the voltage I know when to reconnect the charger. I have a lithium battery which replaced the Lead Acid one, and as I understand it, it is best to not use trickle chargers all the time on these types of batteries. I don't know if that's true, but what I do know is that if the voltage gets too low, they are impossible to charge with a smart charger. Thankfully I have an old dumb charger which charges anything regardless of charge level. But it's a pain to have to get to the battery terminals to use it. Now I can simply connect my battery tender as needed without the additional hassle. Hope this helps someone shopping for this type of device.
