Product Description Still going strong and in remarkably fine voice after six decades of music making, Ray Price delivered the goods again on this 2002 gem featuring 12 tracks recorded in Nashville with some of the original musicians who played on Price's groundbreaking 1950s hits. .com By now it's a cliché to say that a great older singer's voice has mellowed like fine wine--but sometimes clichés are true, which is how they become clichés in the first place. Ray Price's solid-oak timbre and phrasing here suggest the experience and wisdom of a lounge singer while remaining stone country. Few others could do justice to the hard, complicated truths of "You Just Don't Love Me Anymore" or "If It's All the Same to You," and Price proves he's earned an overwrought lyric like the title song simply by undersinging it. Produced by Nashville veteran Fred Foster, featuring old-hand sidemen who played on Price's shuffling early hits, and even including three songs written by fellow Texan Cindy Walker, Time doesn't come across as nostalgic, but rather as the eloquent statement of a masterful artist who knows he's just not done quite yet, thank you. --John Morthland

Many male country singers get better with age - Willy Nelson
Many male country singers get better with age - Willy Nelson, Merle Haggard, Randy Travis - but this one by Ray Price is the best example of all. This is one of those rare cd's you'll enjoy listening to every time you put it on. If you've never listened to Ray Price, try this one. You won't be disappointed.

He Was Number 1 ....
Item arrived on time and in the condition specified by the seller.Hey, what can say. It took me years to understand this mans Godgiven ability to be near perfect as any one voice could be. Now,I am proud to say, I have most of his recordings. His younger yearswere full of doubt in his voice .... it ended with the raw polished brassemotion and honey drip'n richness only this man had.He will be missed.

Just Another Great Voice!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yet another great CD by the legend himself. The great singing of Ray Price. I gave it to my mother for her birthday. She listened to this CD over and over. We both saw him live in concert.

There is no other.
Just as George Jones laments, "Who'll play the Opry...," I wonder who will sing the ballad when Ray Price is gone? "Time" captures it all, not just for Ray's impeccable voice, but for all the great musicians backing him up. Buddy Emmons on pedal steel backing up Ray Price defines country music.
