Quick and easy fix for sagging/drooping read deck on 2008 Ford Explorer
This was a quick and easy fix for our 2008 Ford Explorer that had the sagging rear deck lid that just did not want to stay up any longer. With a medium tip flat blade screw driver and less than 15 minutes the months of holding the Explorer’s rear door up while trying to unload the groceries were cured. Do NOT try to remove the retainer clip. For easiest install of these type pistons get one end of the piston in place over the mounting pin (vehicle) and gently pry up SLIGHTLY on the retainer clip while gently pushing the piston down onto the mounting pin. Snaps right on with minimal prying of the retainer clip. As soon as we installed the rear door now raises quite quickly and with some force so has plenty of strength to raise and keep the door raised. Inexpensive fix for a frustrating problem.

They are good quality, $48 less than Orielly's, and work.
It took hours to determine if these would fit on my 2010 Ford Explorer rear hatch, never figured it out so bought on faith and they fit, and install was easy, very satisfied.

2007 Ford Explorer XLT - Doesn't Fit
This was labeled as being compatible with my vehicle, but it doesn't fit. The compressed length is larger then my originals. So when the extended length or stroke hits the end or closes, the rear gate is still open. Does not fit a 2007 Ford Explorer XLT.

Window Struts or Hatch Struts?
These are quality parts. Just don't make the mistake I made and buy Rear Hatch Struts when you need Rear Window Struts.

Did not fit my 2008 explorer
Too bad they are the wrong size. 2008 explorer XLT Gave a extra star because the quality looks good and it lifts good, total length is perfect, but the gas tube is longer….. when shut they bottom out and the lift-gate will not latch.
