KODAK Pixpro Astro Zoom AZ405 - Digital Bridge Camera, 40x Zoom, 24 mm Wide-angle Lens, 20 Megapixels, 3" LCD Display, 1080p Full HD Video, OIS, AA Battery - Black

As a beginner to hobbycraft photography, I can honestly say i'm loving this camera, exelent pics, great ease of use and focus, however if you want to take advantage of that fantastic zoom, then you "WILL" need a tripod for stability, the zoom is fantastic but your hands alone would 97% catch a blurry pic (at max zoom, I think up to 12x is quite manageable with trial and error), unless of course you're as steady as a stone.The pics I took for review, a close up Macro (I had no idea a red bug was on the plant so i was happy with this :), the zoom shot of a tower in the background, then zoomed in (There are heat waves unfortunately and Im no pro) but thats my review.

This is the second one of these lve had and they are a really good camera for the money. However, there are 2 down sides first the lens cap WILL NOT stay on ( the fitting is non existent) the other is that this model unlike my previous version has 'throw away batteries ' where as the old one had a rechargeable battery. In my view this is a backward step and a big down side

The KODAK PIXPRO Astro Zoom AZ405 is a fantastic camera, especially for aviation enthusiasts like myself. The 40X optical zoom is perfect for capturing clear, detailed shots of planes in flight from a distance, and the 24mm wide-angle lens helps to get great airfield shots. The 20MP sensor produces crisp images, and the 1080P full HD video is a great feature for recording in action. The camera is easy to use with a nice 3" LCD display, making it an excellent choice for aviation photography and more. Highly recommend it!

Great camera but arrived with a lens defect and there's a black arch which is really annoying

This is a brilliant little camera for the price. The picture quality is amazing. I love it. The only small issue I have with it is that the cover for the lens doesn’t fit very well & is easily knocked off if caught.I would definitely recommend it like me you love photography but aren’t quite a beginner but not yet an amateur.There are plenty of different setting to play with & try out if you to & it’s light weight to carry around.

Nice camera just mine came damaged because you could literally see rims of the lens when taking pictures and pictures come out half showing rim of lenses

Excellent wee camera, if you're a photographer like myself you'll understand that it's definitely not on par with it's much more expensive breatheren. However, you can get beautiful shots from this camera, it is clear and a good price for what it is. You can also control the shutter speed. Had no problems with it.

A nice little camera, quite heavy considering its size but it gives it a good feel when handled. However when picking it up it is too easy to touch the viewing screen and cover it in finger prints obscuring your view when framing pictures and reviewing the results. It is worth getting some good quality rechargeable batteries as I expect even the best Alkaline batteries will run down quite quickly. As mentioned before the lens cap does not stay in place so thank goodness for the supplied tether. I find it tricky to gauge the halfway point when pushing the shutter release thus taking unwanted pictures, thank goodness it doesn’t use film and these pictures are easy to erase.

I am very happy with this straightforward point and shoot that you can select aperture or shutter priority and just let it do whatever. In the setting you even have a night shot setting. I took this to Africa, see on picture from then. I have found that sometimes you are unable to get close, so I always look for a high optical zoom. Digital zoom causes you to lose pixels for zoom although once past 40x this camera does do digital zoom. It has some memory inside but you expand it significantly by inserting an SD card. It runs with 1.2V rechargeable batteries but I use 1.5V Lithium rechargeable AA batteries.I have used it for both pictures and videos. I have no complaints. My old camera display delaminated from the electronic backplate. This probably happened to the heat. This is a great camera and you can download a much more detailed user manual than the one that came with the camera. I highly recommend this camera.

At CAD $280, it's a good bridge camera. One thing that I like is that this camera doesn't use a proprietary battery, I can just use 4xAA rechargeable batteries. 40x optical zoom with optical image stabilization. Excellent value for money! It's better to buy separate camera like this this Kodak Pixpro and own it for the rest of your life than spend money on IPhone/Huawei/Samsung phone camera every 3-5 years.It's a more green and SUSTAINABLE choice!I just wish it came with a case so I don't have to buy a separate one.
