Origin (made in) USA? Check and verify

No, they closed their USA plants and moved to China. Malco bought the plant and makes the Eagle Grip locking pliers and they've been tested independently and are much better than these vise grips. Buy those instead. Made in USA, higher quality steel, higher quality construction.

Are these made in USA?

Thank you for choosing Irwin Tools. Our goal is to provide our customers with the highest quality and service. No. All vise grip products are manufactured in China.

I'm not an Irwin rep or anything, but from what I can tell, the 4WR means it's a 4" General Purpose Curved Jaw type. The general purpose pliers have a wire cutter in the jaw, as opposed to some of their other models which don't have one. The 4" model is quite small ... handy for keeping in your briefcase or pocket and useful for getting at small hardware in tight places, but if you're looking for a standard sized set of vice grip pliers, this isn't it.
