Once Upon A Blue Moon: Memoir of a Woman in the Middle of Her Life

I loved this book because alot of this story I was like OMGeez that is totally me. I to am from SWLa. It is so hard just being a woman with a heart and then to throw menopause in the mix of it. Geez Louise NONE OF US have time for that. This was by far my favorite memoir. She is real. To me, after being confirmed I was full blow menopause, it helps me to feel better about my crazy. Also, in my state of crazies and cryings, I am full aware of what is going on and there is no way to control it. If you are on a mission to get through this phase of life before the "best days of your life"... I would definitely put this on my top to read list.

This book is a fantastic read for those of us who are married, divorced, widowed, or single and in the middle of our lives. Dr. Bourgeois gives a delightful insight into her life's triumphs and heartaches with her clever sense of humor and unique style of writing. I have been fortunate to have met her and she is truly a wonderful story teller. In this book she tells of her awakening during her middle age. She not only discovers happiness and love at the height of her newfound singlehood, but most importantly, she re-discovers herself. Definitely a must-read for those of us who still believe that you can find love at any age!

This is a delightful read of self discovery and love. Ms. Bourgeios is a witty and endearing writer. Her ability to openly share her experiences with unbridled honesty make this book a page turner. The reader falls in love with the journey with Ms. Bourgeios and learns some valuable insight about living and loving life.

Very well written. Writer has a style that keeps you trapped for hours.

Great book, wonderful read for those trying to explore themselves in relationships or after a break-up. Tamrya's experiences as she describes them are of a woman striving to better herself through loving herself.

I love this book!! Tamyra's writing style is witty and engaging, and makes you feel like you're sitting down to chat with a dear friend. Even the serious stuff is written with deft skill, which keeps it from feeling too heavy. She explores what it is to walk through major life transitions with dignity and grace, even when it feels like you've lost both!!All in all, Once Upon A Blue Moon is a great read, and I highly recommend it!!!

This book is a wonderful little treasure. I am single, in my early to mind twenties, and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Even though I am at a different time in my life, I found the book extremely relatable. This book's insight into tackling single-ness SHOULD be read by more people my age (in a relationship and single). I see so many people unhappy in relationships because they cannot be happy themselves and have no idea what they are doing wrong. They don't understand the concept of self love or the importance of having time for yourself in your life. This book could save them some heartache if they heed the message of the author. I think most everyone can benefit from reading this book! 5 stars! Well done Tamyra F Bourgeois!!!

This is such a delightfully charming book. Ms. Bourgeois chronicles a difficult time in her life with open, honest, frank dialogue. While her experience was one that I have not shared, I still found that her words spoke to me and have real value for all situations. Wonderful read!
