Is it really waterproof? What age baby is it suitable for?

My baby is 7 months old and it’s quite large on her (esp the arms that are long). But it’s been waterproof every time she’s tested it with spilling a cup of water on herself.

How is the quality, is it machine washable?

Good quality but I just submerge in water in the sink and scrub off any mess, leaving it to dry in a hanger. Could probably withstand a washing machine but can easily be cleaned without.
