Outdoor Research Radar Pocket Cap

A superb, comfortable hat. Fits like a glove and packs small... brim perhaps a little small, but all round ideal! I have purchased a spare just in case!Ideal!

First off, I was very impressed with the packaging and how the hat came in a nice box. It actually makes for a far nicer presentation than I expected (which was just to have a crumpled hat in an envelope). The hat, itself is extremely lightweight, cool and comfortable. The large size happened to fit my head almost perfectly, just slightly loose, which was unexpected since I have a fairly large melon. I like the unstructured, foldable design which allows you to carry it in a day pack or pocket so you can always have head protection on you when you need it. That's why I consider it an EDC hat because it's the only one I have that I can keep on me without having to wear it all day. Seems well constructed and I like the cool feel of the Supplex nylon. Finally, I like the fact that there aren't any strange adjustment straps to fool with, just a simple, fitted design. I realize this may turn off some people, especially those with long hair who want to wear it in a ponytail but if you've got short hair or are bald, this is the one!

I'll preface this by saying I am a big Outdoor Research fan. From their softshells, to mittens, I've liked everything I've bought from them. Good quality, good fit (i.e. not boxy), and lifetime guarantee all add up to repeat purchases on my part.My wife and I both have this hat. She has two of them in Medium, and I wear a Large. I've got a big head, and I was surprised at how big the Large is. I ordered both a L and XL and returned the XL as it looked like I was a little kid wearing my father's hat.As others have mentioned, the biggest plus is how easy it is to carry this thing and how versatile it is. I always toss it in my backpack while hiking, I wear it while running errands on Sundays, and I always toss it in my back when travelling. I tend to avoid it in the dead of summer as the synthetic material, while thin, doesn't breathe all that well. Conversely, it's not warm enough to wear as a hat in the winter. Its really best suited for fall and spring.I've found myself using it most when I travel. Its light and packs easy, and doesn't look goofy. My wife brought one to Peru and basically lived in it for 2 weeks through all kinds of weather. It blocks the sun (as it's got an spf30 rating), fit the part of a backpacker, and was easily stowable in any just about any pocket.To recap:Pros - Versatility, looks good, brim doesn't look like it folds while wearing it (it stays rouned), dries quickly, ideal for travel.Cons - Its really only suited for the shoulder seasons. If you want a warm weather version, opt for the one with the little mesh vent panels on the sides. Same hat, just better breathability.

I have now purchased 6 of these cadet caps to keep in my various vehicles and jackets so they are ready for use. They work well both to protect me from the sun and also rain showers (I wear glases and don't like rain drops on my glasses). I was initially concerned that the bill was a little small but in practice its just fine. They fold easily into a jacket breast pocket or even jeans back pocket. I just wish they had more colors in stock and did an orange color for hunting. They are very comfortable to wear for an extended period.

This is a cool hat. Love the shape, the fabric, the fit is perfect. As heads go, I have a stupidly large one (7+3/4), I should have been an actor...lol. But this sucker fits great, and no headache from being too tight. Love how the bill has a clever device embedded that allows it to fold for packing, or stuffing in a purse. Great color as well.

Great hat, but make sure you buy the right size! The material has no elasticity, and theres no adjustment, so buying exactly the right size is important. I measured my head and was at edge between a medium and a large for this particular hat. When I got it, I could barely get it on my head. I thought I'd have to return it, but I was able to stretch it out enough and it fits ok now (still a bit snug, and shrinks back to near original size in the wash). I think I'd get the large if I were getting another one (which I might do).The hat itself is great though, very convenient to throw in a bag or a large pocket without worrying about crushing it or taking up too much space. Material and construction is top notch. Brim is a bit shorter than most, but still keeps the sun or rain out of my eyes. The material is thin and breathable, with a sweat absorbing internal band of fabric. If I had one request for the company, make this band slightly elastic to give some tolerance to the sizing. Overall, a great product.

Love the color.The material is not as sturdy as my 4 other OR radar pocket caps, it has no loop in the back to hang it, and I'm not sure if it's going to be better for the hot summer weather....I might decide to just return it. Don't know if this has anything to do with it but it was made in Vietnam, and the others in China.

I previously owned one of these pocket outdoor research hats and it was getting old. Purchased a second one. Love the colour, style, fit and protection it provides. Would recommend it for those who don’t like baseball hats…

I have a lot of hats, but I end up wearing this one the most because it's very attractive and comfortable.

Great fit. You can fold it and carry it in a small pocket. Very durable. Lasts forever. Can be washed again and again.I just love this and carry one at all times in a pocket in my bag. I purchased a few extra as well. Great protection against sunlight, rain and cold wind. Looks great as well.

This hat fits really well! It is Light weight, foldable, packable, washable, and quick drying.
