What u need to Silence alert from cable
My old cable came with the detector and was about 15 years old. After using "liquid electrical tape" on it for the past several years (due to the intense sun and heat in the far south), I decided to splurge and replace it. This cable is "nearly" an exact replacement. Overall same length, but the new one's coiled section is slightly longer. Functionally identical, but due to the longer coiled (and shorter straight) section, I had to find a different cable routing path to the detector.
