Consumerlab's Top Pick for K2
Consumerlab rates the sole-ingredient version of this product, Bronson Vitamin K2 MK-7, as the Top Pick among vitamin K supplements. Vitamin K helps with proper blood clotting as well as with calcium utilization in our bones and the cardiovascular system. Most people are not deficient in vitamin K and symptomatic deficiency is rare, so unless you have a malabsorption condition or are severely malnourished, you likely get sufficient vitamin K from your diet (e.g., from green leafy vegetables, dairy, and fermented foods. Higher intakes of certain forms of vitamin K2 from food have been associated with a reduced risk of coronary artery calcification and mortality from coronary heart disease. Vitamin K supplements, typically at high doses, have been clinically evaluated to see if they increase bone density, reduce fractures, or reduce coronary artery calcification and improve cardiovascular function, but results have been mixed, so it is not clear that supplementation will help. There are several forms of vitamin K. All are active, but one, the MK-7 form of vitamin K2, can increase blood levels of vitamin K up to 8 times as much as other forms. Vitamin K is fat soluble, so you'll absorb more of it when you take it with a meal that has fats or oils. Vitamin D3 is fat soluble too. But why did Bronson choose to combine K2 and D3 in this product despite the well-known issue that vitamin D competes with vitamin K for absorption? I deducted 1 star for Absorbency.

Works for me
I started taking vitamin D with K2 about 4 years ago I tried a few different vitamins and then once I got this one it just seemed to be very easy on my body and my doctor even approves it so I think it's a very good one to take

My doctor told me to start on Bronson Basics K2
I have bad osteoporosis, and the specialist I went to see for the first time yesterday told me to start taking one Bronson Basics K2 100 mcg pill a day plus also to really load up on more Vitamin D, more than is in my Calcium/Vitamin D supplement. Walmart had the plain K2 100 mcg, but the shipping was high and the cost was $13 more. Amazon didn't have the 100 mcg just-K2 version, but they had this 90 mcg plus Vitamin D version, and it was much cheaper than the Walmart K2. To be sure I didn't go against my treatment protocol, I got out looking for how to make up the 10 mcg K2 difference and discovered one ounce of cheese has 10 mcg of K2, plus it's in egg yolks and I eat two eggs almost every day. So I'll take this with an ounce of cheese or my egg sandwich and I won't have to take a separate pill for my Vitamin D. With the 25 mcg/1,000 IUs of Vitamin D in my calcium supplement and the 125 mcg/5,000 IUs of Vitamin D in this Bronson formulation, I should be set for Vitamin D. (We'll be re-testing my levels in a few months, so I'll know then if 42,000 IU/week is too much Vitamin D. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.) I was very glad that this arrived the day after I ordered it. I had the other items I needed for my new treatment protocol except for this, but I didn't have to wait long at all to get it. And this is a year's worth of pills. Can't beat it.
