Has anyone used this to pack xxl or xlt clothes or size 13+ shoes? curious to know if this is still practical for tall/big guys.

Yes definitely. They hold a lot more than what it looks like. For the shoe bag, you may not be able to fit as many because of the larger size but I actually use the laundry bag for shoes and it works well for that. This has been one of the best purchases I've made in a long time.

Does adding the storage cubes effect the weight of the luggage bag? Overall, will it make it heavier??

Of course they add weight. I see about 3.5-4 pounds with all 8 in the bag

Can you fit all cubes at once into a standard TSA approved suitcase?

It really depends on how full you pack your cubes and if you are talking about a tsa approved carried on it might tight if you filled them all. That being said these are fabulous and really keep your suitcase organized and easy to pack with everything contained.
