Plug and Play
Plugged the device in, plugged a drive into one of the ports, and voila, a drive was born! sadly the cables that come with the device are all straight when having 90-degree cords would have been ideal. Probably more for a server, but whatever. I ended up getting it because my mo/board only had 6 ports which would have been fine but two of them get taken if I use the second m.2 slot so I am left with four. Newer boards only have 4 so by that logic, I will need more ports at some point. I made sure to get the smaller x1 so that it will fit in any board I get later. My current board only has 3 x1's and 2 x16's so I wasn't willing to sacrifice my only other x16 for more sata.

Ive had this thing for months. The website LIES
No WAY this thing is SATA 3, or it's not using all x16 lanes. I am using this to combine 5 disks; but I bought it because it was the only one out there that was pcie x16. The drives operate at a decent speed because they are striped; however when I plug an ssd into an open port and power it, i don't get even close to read write speeds for an SSD.

Works perfectly on Linux
I've been using the PCI-E 20-Port Card for about 3 months now, both on Ubuntu and Unraid. To install, I attached it to my motherboard and everything just worked; the driver is pre-installed on Linux. So far, I've attached 5 drives with no issues. One word of warning: make sure that every attached drive is SATA 3. I inadvertently attached a SATA 2 drive and that caused all the drives to be unrecognized by the OS. I'll be adding more drives soon and will update this review if I encounter any issues.

Purchased 2 units, both have died after 2 or 3 months, do not use.
Hi, I have now had 2 of these units fail: Purchased December 3rd 2023, it is now Feb 16th 2024, and the unit has failed after only 2 months of use. Both units were correctly installed and connected to approx 16 drives, and then after some time (2 to 3 month) a number of the drives become inaccessible and unrecognized. Replaced with a different sata card and the drive all returned to normal function. Would not recommend this product.

Not to Spec
Well it does work. Just not to spec. Doesn't come close to SATA 3 speed. I'm not interested in slow HD's!

I was really hoping I'd found an expansion card to rebuild my NAS but this card doesnt show up in Linux, can't see it in dmesg or PCI devices. Windows 10 and Server 2012 saw nothing, not even an unknown device, its a PCBrick.

Hade problem med portarna på moderkortet. Satte i detta i stället och plötsligt hade jag kanonbra hastighet. Rekommenderar detta!

I could not get any more than 4 drives to show despite having 6 or 7 connected and then the 4 that did show kept on disappearing one by one. I searched for others using it and found someone on Reddit and someone summed it up by saying "If you can afford to buy 10+ hard drives why skimp on the controller and buy one from China buy something decent like LSI or IBM instead and if you don't want it for Raid make sure the one you buy is UnRaid or JBOD (just a bunch of drives) supported on the card and preferably already flashed for such modes. BTW I was using a 1200w Gold Standard PSU so NOT a power problem!

...bis zu einem Update von Windows Server 2016. Seit gestern wird der Controller nicht mehr vom System erkannt und für die HW-ID PCI\VEN_8086&DEV31D4&SUBSYS_312D41849&REV_06 sind keine Treiber auffindbar. Wo gibt es Treiber für die Komponente? Edit: Das Programm "Snappy Driver Installer" hat das Problem gelöst ;)
