This Silentnight Hotel Collection Kingsize duvet has held up particularly well and represents excellent quality for the money. It’s especially good heading into the colder winter months. It feels substantial and cosy without being unpleasantly heavy, and the filling remains nicely distributed throughout the duvet. One thing I’ve particularly noticed is how well it behaves with different bedding materials. Some cheaper duvets seem to have a life of their own inside certain duvet covers, gradually slipping, bunching or leaving you with half the cover seemingly empty by morning. This one stays remarkably well in place, whether I’ve used smoother or more traditional bedding fabrics. Comfort is excellent too. It has that soft, inviting feel you’d associate with hotel bedding and, importantly, mine arrived without the unpleasant chemical or musty smell that occasionally accompanies new bedding. There was no need to air it for days before actually wanting it on the bed. The stitching and overall finish also give the impression of something designed to last rather than simply look luxurious when first removed from the packaging. Overall, it’s a comfortable, warm and well-made duvet at a very reasonable price.
