Unbelievable watch. You won't be disappointed!
Overall, for the $45 I spent on this watch, I feel like I won the watch lottery. It looks equally amazing in jeans and t-shirt as it does in my suit and tie when I go to work. It has an understated coolness/elegance to it. I definitely recommend this quality, reliable, beautiful Timex Expedition Scout 43mm as a daily wear watch or as an occasional wear in your collection rotation! I have an extensive watch collection (regular person watches, nothing "luxury" ... that's a laughable term for a watch, IMO). I have all categories of quartz watches; dive, pro dive, dress, casual, vintage/retro, knock-about, etc., with all bracelet/strap types and I was surprised that this watch has emerged as my absolute favorite of all of them. I think it is the perfect size (43mm wide and 11mm thick case) and the black coated brass case is gorgeous, lightweight, and durable. The main numbers and indices are large and very readable at a glance. Readability is further helped by the contrast between the black dial and the white number and indices. The dial includes an inner circle of smaller numbers that show military time, which is useful. The seconds hand has an orange tip, making it very easy to see against the background. The medium brown leather strap has beautiful contrast stitching and a case-matching black buckle, which I thick looks amazing. The leather seems to be good quality and I think it will look even better as it ages and becomes softer and wrinkled. There is no lume on the watch but it comes with Timex's excellent Indiglo lighting, which works just fine in the dark. The date window kind of blends in with all the numbers and indices but once you get used to where it sits on the dial, it's no problem to see. This watch looks SO MUCH BETTER in real life than in these photos. In fact, the case almost looks gray in the photos, but it's a very nice dark black color in real life. It has a mineral glass crystal, which is fine and expected for the price, but you could easily replace that with sapphire if you ever wanted to. The movement is a reliable Myota quartz movement.

Great watch, for an amazing price
Great watch and a great bargain for the price. I got the brown/gunmetal/tan. The colors in the product photos are VERY off - which I knew when buying, thanks to someone else's review photos here. So take a look at those user photos if you're considering that color. I think the actual colors are much nicer than the product photos. It's more of a greyish color dial, but on the warmer/browner side; the gunmetal is a nice dark gray, not black like the photos show; and the band is lighter tan. I decided to get a single pass tan leather strap for it, and it looks and feels great on it. Definitely recommend for anyone wanting a quality, reliable, and classic watch for a very good price. Also, for people who say it's loud and you can hear it from across the room: rest it on its side. The back being in contact with a surface amplifies the ticking sound a lot.

Timex Expedition Scout 40mm
The Timex Expedition Scout 40mm is a classic, affordable field watch with a 40mm case and clean, easy-to-read dial. Its quartz movement is reliable, and the INDIGLO® backlight makes it easy to read in low light. The watch is water-resistant to 50 m, suitable for splashes and brief swimming. Pros: Great value for money Comfortable and lightweight Practical features like date display Cons: Basic strap quality Ticking can be loud in quiet settings Backlight occasionally dim Overall: A dependable, stylish, and budget-friendly field watch for everyday wear.

Solid watch with a long band; easy to read, but the band feels cheap. Great value for the price.
The Timex Expedition Scout is a solid choice for a watch. The band is long enough to comfortably fit my larger wrists, which is a significant plus. It's easy to set, stylish, and very readable. Band Quality However, I do have a couple of concerns. Although the band is lengthy, it feels somewhat cheap, and I've noticed that the holes are wearing down a bit. Overall Impression Despite these drawbacks, I believe this watch offers great value for the price. It’s a simple yet well-made piece that I expect will last for a long time. Overall, I’m quite pleased with my purchase.

Good.
Not the exact color as in picture but still nice. Feels great and looks high quality. I bought it to wear as my daily watch. I really like it. Color is a bit lighter than expected, I was expecting an almost black color.

Well it arrived in working, functional condition. That's a GOOD thing.
This is a way too early initial review. You have been duly warned. I purchased the Expedition with the light brown leather strap and a matte stainless buckle. It has a coordinated colored case done in a dark tone similar to a traditional oil-rubbed bronze finish. The dial face is in a sympathetic matte warm gray, with glow-in-the-dark white hour and minute hands and a yellow-orange second hand. In my opinion the entire package is pleasing to the eye, albeit in a fairly conservative manner. It's something that is easy to mix with casual wear but is probably too understated for formal or flashier outfitting. This particular Expedition is my second one; the first was purchased some time ago here on Amazon (the one with the drab green band). Because that one has been flawlessly running, I though it was time to pick up another one. In operation the Expedition is easy to set up. The crown is set up with three detent positions: the first of course is the disabled position next to the case. The middle position detent accesses the fast date adjustment function and the outermost detent allows for time adjustment. The crown worked as it should, although the middle detent for date adjustment was a little vague in feel and took a bit of time to properly find. I'd suggest first adjusting the date before finally adjusting the time because of this, because it was all too easy to skip over the middle detent and find myself at either end position. The crown also offers a dial illumination feature; press in on the crown when it's in the disabled (closed) position and the dial will light up in a soft bluish tone. As for its fit and function, the Expedition series suits my smallish wrist quite well. The watch face is perhaps a tad smaller than what I'd normally prefer, but its markings are generally easy to read and make out. The lone exception is the humorously small date window; in certain lighting conditions, the offset of the date dial from the time dial allows for shadows to be cast across the date numbers, making the digits hard to read without some amount of shift the watch around to catch the right lighting in order to make out the number. It's a quiet operating watch as well; with my hearing as it is, I can only hear the 'tick' of the second hand if I hold the watch close to my ear. YMMV of course, but that's how it is with me. As for its water resistance capability, I haven't had the (dis)pleasure to test either of my Expeditions in a dunking/soaking kind of manner. Nor would I particularly want to, especially with this new one and its leather watchband. I'll instead trust Timex and their quoted water resistance figure of a depth down to 50m. Not that I would ever want to test that myself; dry land is more than good enough for me these days. As for its most important metric, well it's been nuts-on accurate for the first 2+ hours of operation. I mean, I DID warn you that this was a way too early initial review. :D However given how my first Expedition has consistently performed, I really don't anticipate any operational and functional problems with Expedition #2. But if there were to be issues, it's good knowing that Timex offers a limited lifetime warranty on the watch. This Expedition was bought at an excellent sale price at the time of purchase. Even at its regular price I truly believe that it's a worthy addition to any casual watch collection. A-rating so far.

Good looking POS
I have never written a one star review on Amazon before, but this deserves it. I bought this watch in late February of 2026. Looks good, felt rugged, kept good time, but the date indicator would sometimes hang up between dates and the Indiglo function would flicker and was so dim it was useless. Life got in the way and I didn't return it in time. I called the Timex service center and was told it was a battery issue. I removed the old battery, which tested very good and installed a new one. Indiglo still didn't work and when I went to set the correct time, the stem pulled right out of the watch. I have used Timex watches for well over 5 decades and have never had an issue liek this, Buyer beware.

Satisfied
I'm tough on watches, not sure why, but a watch only seems to last for 2, maybe 3 years on my wrist. I don't have a high intensity, physically demanding, kind of job. I'm pretty sedentary. For several years I've been buying a well known brand of watch, paying in excess of 200 bucks for a digital watch with an assortment of functions; barometric altimeter, thermometer, chronometer, day and year, solar power, etc. And with the exception of the solar power, those high cost functions were not used, and on the rare occasion that they were used, they were found to be unreliable and inaccurate. A few months ago my watch started exhibiting signs of failing so I decided to go back to the basics and ordered this analog Timex. For now I'm not happy but I am satisfied. It keeps good time and it's smaller and less obtrusive than the large size digital predecessor. It does NOT have luminous hands or luminous hour tic marks. That's a minus when I wake up in the middle of the night and want to know the time. My previous watch had a small button that, when pressed in the dark, would activate an internal light and allow me to see the digital time. I miss that feature.

Great Low Key Watch for Travel
I got this watch and often wear it when I travel. First of all, it tells the time perfectly and it is easy to set (it's a Timex, after all.) However, an important reason I bought this watch is that it doesn't attract attention because it has a simple, low-key look. The low-key look comes from its basic black face and the leather strap. The watch looks nice and the leather strap feels good to wear. However, when I wear it, I do not feel anyone will notice it and want to steal it. As well, this watch is inexpensive so if I ever did lose it, I could easily replace it. Overall, this is my favorite travel watch.

3B Bueno, Bonito y Barato
