Laguiole products (if authentic) are made in the Auvergne region of France, in the region and/or town of Laguiole.  I travel to France and when I am there I have purchased many Laguiole products from street vendors at markets in different villages.  There are numerous French companies that make Laguiole knives, corkscrews, etc, and unfortunately, it is hard to know sometimes if a product is a true Laguiole product, since there are numerous craftsman in the Laguiole region which make Laguiole knives, etc.  If it is one of the major Laguiole companies, which are well known, then you know for certain you have the real deal.  But, like some I have purchased in France, they were not one of the major companies and I had to take the word of the street vendor.  In the case of this particular corkscrew from Amazon, I have searched on line to see if the exact stamps and the "bee" on the hinge, the grass design, and other things are in fact on one of the legitimate/main brands that are from the town or region of Laguiole, and I am not positive that it is.  But I did buy it anyway as it does match the design shape and looks very similar to the Chateau Laguiole brand corkscrew.  And I have to say, for the money, this particular corkscrew is hard to beat.  It does work very well, but is it for certain a true Laguiole from Laguiole in France? I am not certain, but, note this caveat, other Laguiole products I have purchased while in France, which the French street vendors swore were authentic, were not marked as the major brands either, and some of them were very inexpensive, like this corkscrew.  But, I do like this corkscrew, and although, unlike my other Laguiole products which I know for certain authentic from the region, this corkscrew does do a great job, and for the money is great.  Perhaps someone can shed more light on the authenticity of this particular corkscrew's origin, but in general, Laguiole products are from the Auvergne region and a town called Laguiole, where they also make a great cheese.
