SanDisk Cruzer 4GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive- SDCZ36-004G-B35

I purchased this flash drive for use in my classroom and it served it's purpose well. I really enjoyed the retractable feature to protect the USB end without worrying about a cap to misplace. Highly recommend! It still functions well a decade later.

Now that I have two computers, I need a simple quick way to transfer and store data. Burning DVD RW is much slower and less reliable than USB flash. In some cases using USB flash drives can reduce run time on hard drives. My use of the DVD drives in both computers is greatly reduced which is important as I have had two CD drives and one DVD drive fail in ten years. Moving parts in disk drives are the weakest hardware link in computers, in my opinion, as nothing else has failed. These USB cards will save me more money down the road than I paid for them, and reduce wasted time making them a real bargain.Flash drives appear to be error free. Computer processors are not slowed down by error correction, so my older computer runs faster.I have used Sandisk Compact Flash cards for ten years in cameras and more recently for data storage with no failures. With all re-recordable media one needs a good filing system so accidental deletes do not occur. I only use DVD for long term storage now.This drive has a very nice feature, a light that lets you know when the card is idle, and when it is working. When the light is fading on and off the USB drive is idle. flashes indicate data transfer. I make a point of not unplugging a drive unless both the on screen display and the USB drive light indicate idle conditions.Finally, I use a USB extention cord with USB drives, leaving the computers connected to the cords. This way frequent USB swapping can only wear out the socket on the the cord, not the computer socket.

hello, most of the photos and videos we create take up a lot of space. 16mb per photo quality is on the high end of the advanced point and shoot cameras. even the larger dslr units have more mb per photo, so transferring them to someone else is difficult. email services limit the amount of mb per email message. there are transfer file programs like we transfer, but it is easier to just copy them to these 4gb flash drives for your family and friends. san disk has been on the forefront of flash drives since the beginning. i have yet to have any problems with san disk flash drives or for that matter, sd cards. they are the best for me. yrmv... great product and delivery service. also, you do not need all of the extra stuff on the flash drives. it will work as a blank flash drive for simple copy, paste and transferring.

This item works great! My friend needed one for his daughter and was about to pay $10 for one at school. I stopped him from doing so by saying I could purchase the exact same thing for probably 40-50% less on Amazon! First, he didn't believe me, second, he was worried about the time frame because he needed it within a week and didn't want to pay extra for shipping. I have Amazon Student Prime and I get free 2 day shipping and got this item sent to my friend's address two days after! Not to mention, he didn't have to pay double the price for the product somewhere else. He was truly amazed! Keep the good deals comin' Amazon! Thank you so much!

I use this for ReadyBoost. It really speeds up my Laptop loading pages. I can get things done in a jiffy with this little SanDisk USB memory Stick. I don't use it for anything except laptop performance and for under $10 shipped how can you go wrong? You simply can't this is alot of bang for the coin.I like the orange light, it's pleasant to the eyes. I had some other USB memory stick and I had to put tape over the very bright blue light, it about blinded me. Good ol orange works for me.

I no longer buy SanDisk thumb drives. They work fine, but I want them blank and ready to go, not loaded with software I have no interest in using.EDIT: Let me clarify something for the reviewer who said my review made no sense and all I had to do was delete the software. No, it is not that simple. It may be true now, but the ones I had, had to be reformatted in order to get rid of the unwanted software. I realize it does not take that much time, but it is still a nuisance. I stand by my no longer purchasing SanDisk thumb drives.

I got this to store my pictures and videos. I have already put a ton on there and its still not full. I like how the plug end slides in so I don't have to worry about losing the top. It also the perfect size. Not too small where i can lose it bu not too big! I would recommend to others.

Ich war zwar auf ein Plastikteil gefasst, aber es ist wirklich ein bisschen wackelig und klapprig. Ich denke, dass der Stick schon robust ist, wirken tut er es aber auf den ersten Blick nicht. Der Schiebmechanismus funktioniert, und er rastet auch (noch) ein. Das große rote Licht darunter ist sehr auffällig, je nachdem wofür man den Stick benutzt, könnte es stören. Wenn der Stick so am PC hängt, stört es aber kaum. Der Stick versperrt auch keine anderen USB-Ports. Außerdem hat er noch eine kleine Öse, um ein Schlüsselband daran festzumachen. (Davon war ich positiv überrascht, da auf den Bildern hier bei Amazon nichts davon zu sehen war.)Ich gebe dem SanDisk Cruzer nur 4 Sterne, weil ich mir eine etwas höhere Schreibrate erhofft habe, und er auf mich ein wenig klapprig wirkt. Trotzdem ist er im Preis fast unschlagbar und bekommt somait ein klare Kaufempfehlung von mir.

Der Sandisk Cruzer USB-Stick 4 GB RB ist ein grundsolider USB Stick der zu einem fairen Preis zuverlässig seinen von mir angedachten Zweck - das Mittransportieren wichtiger Daten (natürlich mit Verschlüsselung) - erfüllt.Der Hauptvorteil liegt hauptsächlich im Schiebemechanismus, der den USB-Kupf im Gerät versinken lässt und diesen somit zum einen vor Beschädigungen schützt und zum anderen eine handliche kompakte Form ermöglicht. Somit kommt das Gerät ohne eine Schutzkappe - die früher oder später immer verloren geht - aus.Mit dem Mechanismus hatte ich bisher trotz häufiger Nutzung noch keine Probleme.Als einzig echten Kritikpunkt muss ich, wie bereits in anderen Rezension geschildert, die überdimensionierte und permanent blinkende Status-LED kritisieren. Da diese ein Element des Schiebemechanismus ist lässt sie sich auch nicht nachträglich abkleben oder ähnliches.Außerdem wäre eine Befestigungsmöglichkeit am Schlüsselbund nett gewesen; die passende Öse dazu befindet sich ja schon am Gerät ...

Hallo zusammen!Ich bin mit dem Stick eigendlich zufrieden.Der Versand ging schnell.Der Stick hat eine gute verarbeitung und sieht dazu noch schön aus, wenn man darauf wert legt.Die Schreibgeschwindigkeit ist etwas langsam, so ca. 3 - 4 Mbyte/sec
