Although I ordered this quite late in the season so the little blighters were not so active as they can be, I am very pleased with the product so far! I particularly like the fact that the 'fence' is much taller than other products on the market so I could bury a mm or two in the soil and still have enough height to deter snails. Good strong construction, and copper wire throughout, not just the top and bottom like similar products. Well worth the extra money. Spring and summer will be the real test, but I am very optimistic.

Used round a raised bed. No slugs when the plants were young

The idea of a non rigid, high mesh is great, but fixing it is problematic. I made a metre square around my beans and peas. The black ‘supports’ were fairly useless. The mesh didn’t hook on and stay on and they were too short to push into the soil to give purchase. In order to give some smoothness to the mesh I had to pull quite hard and the supports just bent over. I ended up using straight tent pegs, which did work quite well. As the mesh is a bit ‘wavy’ you need really flat soil or it gets very fiddly trying to block any gaps. I have noticed a reduction in the amount of plants being eaten, but am not convinced this works. However, it may be that slugs are already in the soil in my square, so I am going to try and get rid of them with beer, and then see what happens.

I have struggled with slugs / snails on our plants for years. I have spent so much replacing them and I have tried products like this before (with no success). Very surprised to find this actually working, think it's actually because it's wider than others I've tried. It's like a double mesh and it does exactly what it says on the tin (well packet). Came with plenty of pegs and actually have a couple spare. I'm am going to be ordering a couple more of these. Excellent product, priced well and delivered next day. Very happy. Would definitely recommend this!

Very effective in keeping slugs off plants, pots and borders. Have used on everything from tomatoes and lobelias to pots of hostas and it has not disappointed. The spoke system is a massive faff though - not sure how that is supposed to work at all. I like that it is double - single strength is effective anyway and double well - I have no complaints.

A bit difficult to work with. Comes in a tube shape, ended up cutting up the tube and then into squares to layer it on the ground around the plants (strawberries) instead of a fence, this seems to have worked out fairly well. Tried to wrap it around the base of a favorite Hosta that gets eaten but they just go from the inside or something other ninja tricks unknown for myself so that is a big flop. It seems to hold up well in rain as well and not too flimsy.

I find this effective. My plants are recovering since I've added a fence around them.I had to use tent pegs and thin wire ties to secure it properly as there are not enough plastic pegs and the mesh does need to be tied to them.I do like it but I think it is overpriced.I'm hoping it lasts well for use next year too.I've also had comments that it looks attractive around my garden.

I have found snails and slugs happily crawling up and over this, right from when it was installed. My plants have been happily munched away as normal. I've seen the snails on it, so they haven't gone under it or got through a gap, plus there are slime trails in evidence all over it. So I'm afraid it doesn't work at all. Best save your money.
