08/05/2025Tested on a short ride, feels pretty good. Clear ckicks and tactile response in the rebound know. Too early to add any more details.16/05/2025The shock absorber began making some very subtle sucktion sounds it didn't initially make, and there is some oil on the shaft, more than initially. I don't like this worrysome sign.17/05/2025Local bike shop adviced to clean and reluvricate all pivots on the frame, and if the sound doesn't disappear, to rebuld the shock. The bike was on a road for 5 hours in total. I mean literally on the road. Its minus one more star, I am returning this shock as servise every 5 hours is not something I would be happy to take on.23/05/2025A new one has arrived, and it is squicky straightaway. Only wasted time installing the thing. Must join other people here and advice to look for a different product/make. I just don't feel like looping through their entire stock in a hope to get a decent one. Much cheaper shocks don't squick.This review might be updated if I would have anything else to add.

This is the second Rockshock Monarch where the lock out switch is broken or malfunctioning almost immediately out of the box, I will never, ever, ever buy this product again.

Preforms well, very smooth, fitted on to Carrera detonate 24, running it on 80psi and fastest rebound my boy likes it. Only issue is this is second one I got. First leaked grease and oil so sent back but this one now does the same, at least leaves grease mark on stanchion but not leaking air but does not seem right to me monarch R on my Giant Trance dry as a bone will run it for a bit longer see if ok as a Paine to take hardware on and off .
