I have been making boba with the kids in my family recently. They like the traditional tapioca boba, but they much prefer popping boba. We use it for lemonades, usually. But these were also really great on lemon ice we purchased from the local convenience store. The flavor is okay. Not the strongest, most concentrated flavored boba I've ever had but it's good. I didn't have too much of a problem with boba skins from previously popped boba in the container. The syrup isn't as thick or sticky as some I've tried in the past. My only complaint about the boba itself is that they're different sizes. Some brands are more consistent than others. This isn't really a problem as long as they fit up the straw, unfortunately the included paper straws struggled a bit. Speaking of the straws. I wasn't thrilled with them. All paper straws get soft in liquids, that is just common sense. But these got soft super fast and as I previously mentioned they didn't accomodate a lot of the large boba balls. One thing I really LOVED was the scoop! This is the first time I've gotten a scoop with my boba. Normally I just use a measuring cup and include a lot of the syrup. This scoop helped me to get even servings of the actual boba for the kids (which is important to kids). The scoop was great!

These strawberry popping boba are fantastic - delicious and high quality...and quantity! The boba container came securely packaged in a cardboard box with an insert. The straws were laying on top, and some were slightly crushed, but the strainer was in good condition (and is a really convenient feature of this kit.) I was impressed with how BIG this container is! It has a very tight fitting reusable lid, and a plastic seal that needs to be cut away when you first open it (which was a little scary because the container is as full as it could possibly be! But thankfully no spills - just be careful.) The boba themselves were perfect - none broken or misshapen. They have to be stored in the refrigerator after opening, so make sure you have plenty of room to store them! The boba taste great, a nice candy-ish strawberry flavor that's not artificial or too sweet, and have the perfect pop that you'd expect. We tried ours in some lemonade and it was a great combination! I can't wait to try them in a range of other drinks. Like I mentioned, the included paper straws (which are off-white, not black like in the product photo) were a little crushed, but they held up well in a drink for over an hour. And with this quantity of boba, you'll probably just want to pick up some reusable bubble tea straws anyway. Highly recommended!

(If you are having a party, that’s great). As other reviewers have noted, if you are a one- or two-member household, the large container can be daunting since directions say to use it right away. I am right now looking for room in my freezer to freeze the rest in smaller portions. Or maybe I should invite my neighbors over. Or both. (By the way, I set this container in the kitchen sink to open it since it is filled to the very top with red liquid.) The set comes with a very handy bubble tea scoop and 10 paper boba straws (but 10 is not enough for the amount of product in the box). I did learn that you really do need the big straws. You can drink the boba drink with regular straws, but if you do, the boba pearls break when being sucked through the narrow straw. The large boba straws allow the full pearls to reach your mouth where you get the enjoyment of breaking them. The listing page suggests different ways of making the boba drinks, and I tried several. I am glad I followed directions to shake the liquids with ice before pouring over the boba pearls. Otherwise the ice would have gotten in the way. I was a tad confused about whether the liquid with the boba pearls is considered the “fruit syrup” listed in the recipes, since the name of the kit does not list fruit syrup (it lists pearls, scoop, and straws). On the other hand the name says “ready to serve” so maybe the sugar water is the fruit syrup. In any case, since the liquid in the container is mostly water and sugar, I would limit use of it. The flavor of the liquid is mostly just sweet; the strawberry flavor is not strong. The bobas themselves are pretty fun, though they are not made with tapioca. The name of the product says it comes “with Tapioca Boba Pearls,” but there is no tapioca involved. For me, the best things about this set are the idea of it — make boba tea at home, very fun — and that very useful bubble tea scoop.

The Popping Boba Bubble Tea Kit is a fun and easy way to make bubble tea at home. I purchased the strawberry flavor and found it to be very sweet, almost too sweet for my taste. However, it was refreshing when served chilled. The kit comes with tapioca pearls, a tapioca scoop, and an eco-friendly paper straw, which was a nice touch. The instructions were easy to follow, and the bubble tea was quick to make. Overall, I think this kit is a bit expensive for what it is, but it's a fun treat to have every once in a while.

This is 3200 g, which is over 7 pounds. I was shocked at the sheer size of this bucket, it’s really appropriate for business or party, not for average homes, unless all you eat are popping bubbles every meal. The strawberry bubbles do taste great, and the juice it comes it is good too. Kids seem to like the flavor and find the sensation giggle worthy. Still, too big, as you can’t keep it around too long once opened and it has to be refrigerated. Unless they are selling only to boba businesses, it would’ve been great if this was in multiple smaller packs. The website currently says country of origin is Taiwan. I find that to be misleading, as I think boba did originate there so boba from Taiwan would have more credibility, however these are made in Czech Republic, and distributed by a company in Czech Republic. So seller needs to correct that on the website.

These strawberry flavored popping boba come in a box with some extra stabilization inserts to help protect the large container during shipping. I've gotten other packages of boba, especially these large containers, with broken lids This one arrived without damage. The boba scoop is good quality and lets you get the boba out without a lot of liquid from the container. Unfortunately while the boba itself wasn't damaged, about 1/3 of the paper straws were crushed due to being packaged on top of the container and the container arrived upside down. The straws worked and I was able to get the flattened straws more or less back into shape. Perhaps they added some cushioning to the container of boba which helped it arrive undamaged? They have that artificial strawberry flavor, which reminds me of your typical cheap strawberry flavored soda pop. The pearls aren't sticky and pop easily in the mouth, but don't break easily when scooping them from the container. I didn't notice the straws getting soft or damaged by the liquid in my drinks during the course of drinking a full drink, but then I also do tend to drink my boba drinks fast. They are a bit more expensive than other similar sized brands, but this item comes with the scoop and straws, so it is similar value.

The taste is incredible. We use these on our pancakes and when we have ice cream. I like adding them to my yogurt for more flavor. Great in iced tea and milk. The container is larger than it looks in the picture. It comes with individually wrapped straws. The scoop strainer is good for when adding the pearls to a drink, but I use a regular scoop for adding to everything else. The juice is just as good. MANUFACTURED: 10/28/2022 EXPIRATION DATE: 04/27/2024 I always check for expiration dates before using, ESPECIALLY with food products. This expiration date tells me the product hasn’t been sitting somewhere but has been manufactured recently for distribution. The PRICE is decent for this product. It’s exactly as advertised and well-made.

So this product gets a two from me. I'll start with the good and get to why it's a two in a minute. You get A TON of product here! 7+ lbs of it. It has a very long shelf life sealed but recommends you use it immediately upon opening it. I could see this working for a big party, classroom event, or concession stand situation. The flavor is good and the texture is pleasant. I made it traditionally and as more of a two ingredient milkshake using just milk and the product. It tasted decent both ways. So why two stars? It's not really Boba. It has no tapioca in it. Traditional boba pearls are made from tapioca. Now, lots of products are "faux boba" and don't use tapioca. They usually advertise themselves as "tea bubbles" or "popping pearls". Some even still call themselves boba. I'm not totally against that even though it's a little bit deceiving. Where this product crosses the line is in the literally title. "Boba Tea Kit with Tapioca Boba Pearls". You can't say your product has tapioca peals if it does not have tapioca pearls. That's an automatic two in my book. You are not what you are claiming to be. Fix this issue and I change my review from a 2 to a 4.
