Keeps magpies and other large bird off the tree branch where my 4 bird feeders hang. The small birds now have the chance to get to the food. You do have to fit the double spikes into the base plate which is a bit laborious. You have the option of spikes in a straight in line manner, or at right angles to the base giving a vee shape along the base. There were left over spikes so you could do both which is a little over kill.

Only been installed for a day, but the pigeons, that were siting on the gate and pooing down it, seem not so keen to do that now. Should be bird friendly as they should see the spikes and avoid them.

These anti bird spikes were delivered on time. They come ready to assemble in an envelope for ease of delivery. Mine had five short sections with exactly the right number of spikes. Assembly is very easy; just poking the wires through the appropriate holes! They are stainless steel, so maintenance free once installed.My house is gothic style and the roof has a small pediment feature with a rail across below it, which is where the birds sat and messed on the windows below. As part of the rail goes behind the pediment frame angle, I needed to cut some of the spikes, using decent pliers. I used two sections of spikes at each side of the rail, needing to cut a bit off which I did with tin snips although a hacksaw would also be suitable. I put a line of silicone sealant on the back before screwing the sections on simply because I was limited in the number of screws I could put in due to the roof angle at each side. I used stainless steel screws.These spikes will prevent the bird mess on my windows and last for a long time so I would definitely recommend them.

I have put these together but haven't actually put them on the roof yet - I get seagulls pecking at the rubber around a window. However they don't look very big and I'm not sure how effective they will be as I can envisage the seagulls standing on one side of the row of spikes and still being able to peck over the top of them, so I have ordered another set of larger ones as well and I'll make a double row to hold them back. Update: I put the bigger ones nearest the window and then the silver ones beyond to make a further row for them to have to stretch over to reach the window, and it works perfectly. No more seagulls as they can't reach now.

Punctual delivery. Easy assembly. Fairly easy attaching to fence. Kept cats away from a bird box.

I had a seagull nest for the last two summers and when it looked like they were coming back for a third summer I got these installed and it seems to have worked. They do look bendable though and had to pay a roofer to come and drill them on so although they were cheap to by they can be expensive to install. Also you do need to assemble yourself.
