What is a thickness gauge mainly used for?

Sometimes body repair shops are very good at concealing any visual indications. When buying a used car, you can check the thickness of the paint to determine if the car has been in an accident before.

Why do measurements at the same point yield different readings?

Due to machine and paint surface errors, measurements can vary due to differences in applied force or angle. As long as the values fall within an acceptable margin of error, it is considered normal.

How to reduce the error？

Please hold the instrument grip position when measuring, and press the measurement smoothly so that the probe can press the measurement to the object smoothly to reduce the error.

Will the probe of the thickness gauge scratch the paint?

With a dynamic probe sensor, this paint depth gauge can measure on surfaces of any shape without scratching the paint.

Is it suitable for fiberglass?

This device is not suitable for fiberglass, plastic fibers, or carbon fibers.
