Zam Buk Ointment 20g

An exceptional healing embrocation. Packed full of herb and plant goodness. Soothes into the skin and draws out the pain and discomfort. I've been using it on a large deep bruise on the hip and it greatly helps to quieten the pain when sleeping laying on that very hip. And knowing healing is taking place. My mother used to swear by Zam Buk and used it 75 years ago on us kids for all stings, cuts, grazes, etc. I have purchased it since but tend to go for more modern antiseptic creams. I had some damage on my thigh that was not healing and looking red and angry. So I decided to go for Zam Buk. Before opening the tin I queried with my wife whether it was the same product, even mentioning that it was probably now pink in colour. Little has changed, the tin is still difficult and fiddly to open. The colour and eucalyptus smell is the same. It does seem softer than I recall as it used to be stiffer and, was probably harder to apply to a dressing pad. So better. And, it works, immediately soothed the irritation and helped repaired the damage. This is a herbal substance and apparently safe to use.

My husband was thrilled to discover you sold this, what a blast from the past! He says that there was always a little tin in his house when he was growing up. As someone who is always clumsy with knives in the kitchen this is an excellent product, aids healing and doesn't smell as medical as products I've used in the past. You only need a tiny smear so it's good value for money and it's small enough to slip in a handbag as well as a staple of the medicine cupboard.

I bought this after recommendations on this site. I had an allergic reaction which caused my lips to swell and then get very dry and flaky to the point of splitting and bleeding. I tried various balms which helped but only temporarily. After trying so many products I was a little bit doubtful about this one especially as several people mentioned a strong smell. However since others said the smell was not unpleasant I went ahead and ordered. The first tin I tried had absolutely no smell at all and it made me wonder what people were talking about. Most importantly my lips got better after just several uses. I decided to keep one tin with me and keep one at home. The second tin I opened did have a smell but I quite like it! Kind of fresh and medicinal,difficult to describe,like pine,I think. I read somewhere that you shouldn't use it on the lips because of the camphor. However another well known product, specifically for lips, contains camphor so I'm not sure which advice is correct. I've given four stars because Zam Buk contains petrolatum and I'm not a big fan of petrolatum based products.I would certainly recommend this product to others and I think this will be something I use regularly. I had another allergic reaction recently and it was Zam Buk to the rescue again. :)

Works very well, wonderfully soothing, well worth the money. Cleared up sores within days. Used to use other ointments but will be using this from now on. Doesn’t smell as bad as some are saying. Good size carry round tin and long lasting. 5 stars, just buy it you won’t be disappointed.

My Mum used to use it. So I remembered it. It was made in Keighley In Yorkshire. Now the tin I got hasa Birmingham Post Code on it. But, the shop is still open in Keighley, it is a really quaint shop and Museum. Everyone should visit. It is a great product it solved my Excema and calmed down the burning itch. Plus other problems. I think the same about it as my Mother. I am 71 and still use it.

I was (& am still) trying to find a product as good as the Germoline Antiseptic Cream which was taken off the market - this is not a patch on that. It's OK, but does not have the healing properties required. As others have said, it is very green & smells a bit & cannot be worn outside the house unless you want some funny looks! Reminds me of the Green Oils we used to use on horses! Would not recommend as a cure all - does soften skin, but that is not what I wanted it for. I shall continue my search.

Happy to have found this little gem! A great all rounder for irritated skin, cuts ‘n scrapes. I first saw it in the 70’s & didn’t know it still existed! I wish it came in a bigger tin as it’s so tiny!

I used this product throughout my childhood, as my father did before me. And then it disappeared from Canadian shelves back in the early 90s. We were carefully nursing what was left of a couple VERY old tins (this stuff never goes bad!) This smells a little different than the old version, but hopefully does the job. My husband and father swear by it for cold sore (which I don't get) Apparently if you apply it at the first sign of the tingle, you can ward off most cold sores....

Man muß bei dieser Art von Natur"medizinen" probieren, ob es bei einem selber hilft. Es riecht wirklich speziell, aber nicht generell unangenehm und hilft mir bei Rücken-Aua. ;-) Um ein Vielfaches teurer hier als in Afrika, woher ich es kenne.

Benutze es seit Jahren fur kleine Winden, Stiche und Blasen. Riecht nach Krautern, lasst sich gut auftragen und ist sehr ergiebig.

I was so pleased to find this product on the Internet. My Mother used this product 60 years back for all my scrapes and cuts. It was great back then and it is still great today. I have not been able to find this product for years and I don't think is available in Canada any more; a pity. It fixed a lot of scrapes up for me when I was a youngster and I am glad find it again. Thank you.
