When they arrived they were such a dark brown that they looked black, even against our black table. We were so pleased with them. It took roughly 2 hours to make the chairs using an electric screwdriver (recommended). The chairs are very sturdy, comfortable and look great. They were so inexpensive and we were not expecting to have such value for money.
