It's great for students who are struggling to understand texts. It has an accompanying workbook which you have to purchase separately. It's so easy to use: on he inside of the front cover the themes for each poem is laid out in a quick reference table. The guide also includes: Section one - The poems from Ozymandias by Percy Bysshe Shelley to Checking Out Me History by John Agard. Section two: Themes -Power of Humans -Power of Nature -Effects of Conflict -Reality of Conflict -Loss and Absence -Memory -Negative Emotions -Identity -Individual Experiences Section three: Poetic Techniques from Forms of Poetry to Mood Section four: Exam Advice Section five: Improving and Marking Sample answers At the end of Sections one-three there are Practice questions At the end of Section four there are Sample Answer Answers to practice questions are at the end of the book. It is reasonably priced and well worth buying for struggling students or as a revision tool.
