An Impressive Book
I gifted this book to my 5-year-old nephew a few days ago, and he was delighted! He eagerly began to read and call out the different professions, even when he did not know the words. The vivid images and colours are so helpful! As he pulled me into reading with him, what I eventually found, and what was impressive, was the use of rhetoric by the author. The structure remained the same for each introduction, so it was a confidence boost as he knew what to say and was later able to identify some of the words outside the context.I also appreciated the inclusion of fields that may be sometimes overlooked or not given due attention—from farming to hairdressing. Regard toward diversity and inclusivity was also considered. The book’s quality is well. The cover is velvet soft (his mommy loved that!)His mom has asked about other works from the author.A wonderful book overall!

Good conversation starter
The illustrations in the book weren't my favorite and it felt really repetitive, BUT my son enjoyed reading it with me and he and I have since had some great conversations about different career choices and what he might like to do when he grows up.

Excellent book
This book is excellent way to get children to think of what they would like to be when they grow up and the role each job plays in society.

Lots of careers, questionable illustrations
I bought this book for a career lesson for my kindergarten classrooms. It does introduce a lot of career choices, but the illustrations are questionable for actually teaching about careers. The chef cooks in a cave? The doctor leaves pills all over the table? Giving children an accurate picture of what responsibilities adults have in their careers (like keeping medicine safe) and what environments they work in is an important part of developing their ideas about the world of work. Could use some work…

Positive messages and upbeat images
I like this book’s overall theme: you can be anything you want to be and you can help people, too. It’s important for young people to see various role models involved in diverse occupations, and this book lives up to that. The illustrations are colorful, with lots of details to discover. Young children will enjoy reading about the different characters and activities they like to do. Easily relatable!
