Difficult To Access Screen And Setting Buttons, Vastly Different Step Counts Despite Identical Paths
My experience with the SmartHeart Multifunction Pedometer began on a negative note as I tried to access the screen and setting buttons. It was not easy to raise or lower the panel which covered these components as it is found on the back of the unit where the piece will ultimately latch onto a waistband. The side of the pedometer that is easily seen shows the company logo which is pretty ludicrous as I would have much preferred being able to easily access how many steps I had earned that day or even the current time as opposed to being a walking advertisement for SmartHeart. If you want to access the screen, you must remove the piece from your body and then open the panel every single time. Programming the unit was more challenging than it should have been. The unit includes the abilities to gauge total number of steps, body fat level, and current time. When I finally finished successfully programming the unit, I found that the piece was very fidgety. Some days the unit was able to measure my steps easily while other days it would not be as accurate or have moments of freezing up. I followed a similar walking pattern while attending a conference and found the steps were vastly different each day despite the fact that I repeated identical patterns of steps. The unit uses a CR2032 button battery. I had originally bought this for my elderly Mother to use but learned that it was too hard for her to even open the panel. She was unsuccessful in her numerous attempts and ended up giving up. The pedometer looks like a clunky plastic oval that if you weren't in the know appears to be a paperweight with a plastic clip. The pedometer is Made in China. I would not recommend this product and feel that there are plenty of actual user friendly pedometer options available on Amazon.

Good pedometer, but not easy to setup
This is a very good multi function Pedometer, but it isn’t too intuitive and the setup is a bit challenging and complicated. My wife is an avid walker and likes to track her daily steps. She is currently using her phone to track her steps. After walking, she would weight herself on a scale to get her body-mass ratio. We hope this pedometer would eliminate the additional scale step.To begin with, this is a good device. You walk and measure your body-mass ratio all in one device. However, the instructions were printed on one sheet with tiny letterings and diagrams that were difficult to follow and read. You need to input the time, date, weight, body type, etc onto the device in a particular order. The device itself is small and clips onto you belt. The buttons on the device are tiny and the labels were difficult to read without a magnifying glass. My wife tested the device and compared it to her phone and scale and the numbers were slightly off/different (+/- 15%), we are not sure which device is not calibrated right. The pedometer is powered with a small button battery that will last a few months, depending on your usage. The LCD display on the pedometer is small and basic. There is no backlight, so you cannot read the numbers at night. The data does not output to an external device, so there is no permanent logging/history and you will lose your data when you change the batteries.Overall, this is a good device, but you need to set it up properly and get the proper measurements. I don’t recommend it to people that have visibility issues and don’t understand reading complicated instructions.Thank you for reading this review, I hope you found it helpful.

Works well
The media could not be loaded. Seems to work fine. It was a little more difficult to first open, but now it seems to open without any issues. It is pretty standard.

Inaccurate
I was excited to try the SmartHeart Multifunction Pedometer. Here are my impressions.PROS- It's quite comfortable to wear.- The included instructions for setup and use are clear.CONS- In order to do anything with this pedometer, including look at the number of steps, you must open the cover, which I found impossible to do without using something to pry it open. I thought it might loosen up but I had to use a knife or nail file to get it open each time.- The numbers on the screen are easy to read, but when you are setting it up you have to read extremely small print at the top of the screen which is very tough to see.- This device claims to measure body fat. I knew that was bogus but I tried it anyway and it measured my body fat at 14.2%! I'm a woman who rarely works out so that's WAY off!- What I really want a pedometer to do is to accurately count steps. As a small test of the accuracy of that core function I put the device on and walked 300 steps. I then checked the screen which showed 347 steps. So it's off by about 15% even under very controlled conditions for a short period of time. I would never really trust this to be accurate on a long walk, let alone to keep track of steps over an entire day.- To use the calories burned and distance functions you will need to measure your stride and then make sure you are consistenly walking at that stride so it will only be a very rough estimate. This isn't necessarily a negative since there wouldn't really be any other way to do it, just something to be aware of if you actually want to use these features. In short, this pedometer is hard to set up, very difficult to open, and fairly inaccurate. It's very inexpensive and to a certain extent you can't expect greatness from something this cheap, but I would recommend saving up for something better than this.
