An effective self-help programme with a well tested scientific basis.
I already had a copy of the first edition which I had dabbled in, but this time round I have been able to identify anxiety as the problem I most need to address, so my use of the book is much more focused. The extra chapter on anxiety in this new edition is really helpful, in addition to the modifications made to some of the existing chapters. If there is one area in which the book could have been improved with regard to my personal needs, it would be to address generalised anxiety disorder a bit more. I have a general sense of unease which is difficult to pin down, and which is different from the more focused fears that people with other anxiety disorders tend to get. However I am, bit by bit, finding ways to connect my own experience to the exercises and examples given in the book, and I have already made significant progress even in the short time that I have been using it. If you plan to travel a lot and you want to keep using the book every day, I would recommend thinking about getting the Kindle version to use on your laptop or tablet (if your tablet has a reasonably big screen). The paper edition is quite bulky.

Excellent, totally worth the money! 😁
I've had this book for under 24 hours and already it's helping me. I was feeling totally like poo for the last week no energy, I just wanted to lock myself away, I've done CBT before but I wanted more I wanted something that I could work on slowly everyday to change my life, (so I'll review again in a few months) this book is way more effective than the course I did, it goes in to alot more detail about moods and anger and how our thoughts tend to be the reason we feel the way we do. A couple pages in, writing down the situation and thoughts and asking the questions you get guided to ask yourself made me feel so much better. My mood soon changed! And I felt motivated. The worksheets are great. It's kind of like a journel in to you're own mind. It is hard work trying to change the way you think and to over come mental health but it is totally worth it.

Mind Over Mood - Change How You Feel by Changing The Way You Think - second edition
I'm currently working through "Mind Over Mood", as this book is recommended reading as part of my existing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) psychotherapy sessions. I understand it's a prominent and proven text, which helps combat, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, phobias, stress-related disorders, relationship problems, to name but a few difficulties that people face and seek therapy for. The principles that it teaches are a valuable and essential on-going self-help accompaniment to individual therapy and individual needs. Easy to read, short, easy-flowing chapters. Numerous work-sheets, plenty of case-studies, and practical advice that has great resonance. No complaints whatsoever.

Hmmm.
Although this book was recommended by my doctor, I personally found it to have limited use, though there are useful tips regarding trying to adopt a more upbeat attitude to life., i.e. seeing the glass half full rather than half empty.
