Yes - you write on it and when it falls into water it dissolves. Used it for a Forgiveness Session on a training course so that participants could see that the whole thing was private between them and God.

How can you stick this to fabric so you can stitch through it? I thought I was buying the sticky solvi and bought this by mistake!

I'm sorry I had the very same problem as yourself I tacked it on but I now use the sticky version. you could try low tack spray.
