Black Ace Ovation - Pickleball Paddle with Toray 700 Carbon Fiber Face - Comfort Pro Grip

I have been playing pickle ball for about five years and was having some forearm and elbow pain. This paddle has completely eliminated that problem, it’s amazing. It’s great for control and power. The only problem is they have eliminated this particular model for any tournament play. There is another style by the same company that is approved for tournament play. This paddle is perfect for recreation and casual competitive play.

Love this paddle! I've been playing for about a year now, and with my tennis background, the transition was really easy. I knew nothing about paddles when I started playing, so I blindly tried paddles from Vulcan, Electrum, PaddleTek and GearBox before I landed with the ProKennex Black Ace Ovation. This paddle is perfect for me, as it provides power a the baseline (regardless of what the other reviews say), great feel at the net, and does not jar my arm at all when hitting. I love the beads inside the paddle - they really absorb the shock when I'm hitting. I do feel like the sweet spot is a little smaller, but with the addition of lead tape on the sides, I feel like the sweet spot is larger and fully acceptable. And I LOVE that this paddle is a bit louder than the others when striking the ball. I feel like it's a little intimidating to other players, which is a plus. I would recommend this paddle for intermediate thru pro players.

This model has been banned from sanctioned tournaments, so don't buy it if that matters to you. The original MSRP was like $250, I got it for $75 for that reason. I love that it's thin and light, doesn't cause elbow pain like my Joola did. Good power and spin.

My daughter has a right wrist injury since high school and has to continue to protect the wrist. When she tried pickleball, she really enjoyed it but even with using a wrist support, icing and Aleve, her wrist would hurt for a few days. The beads in the racket really reduced the vibration in the paddle and decreased the pain her wrist. She had a little pain the first evening but nothing after that.

Love my black ace. Weight and length of grip is just the right size for me. The paddle gives me the confidence to play to my skill level. Got one for my husband as well.

I used this racquet 5 times max. It was sent to me 6 weeks ago. You can see that everything is in good shape except for the plastic part holding the top of the racquet together. It does not hold up in the heat and I’m in Southern CA. I reached out to Prokennex Pickleball to share with them what happened and their response was you have to pay for shipping to return it and we will decide if it’s under warranty. This racquet clearly was not abused, just does not hold up in 90 plus degree temperatures and caused the plastic part to pull away from the racquet. In addition the racquet is ultra thin. I’ll stick with my Engage Pickleball Racquet I have had for 2 years now. So much for their 1 year warranty. If you see any signs of pulling apart make sure you return within the 30 days!

I have played with the ProKennex brand paddle for three years now and had the Flight/Ovation model. I just received my new Black Ace Ovation and I can’t be happier with the feel and power this new paddle has. I have never had arm pain of any kind since switching to this brand three years ago. I will not use another paddle!
