Good book to improve English skills and language
Good book to improve English skills and language. B1 is difficult and this gives a good background to the topic.

Invaluable aid for achieving English Nationality.
I bought this for my Thai daughter in law who was on the last lap of getting English Nationality. She said it was invaluable and having used it she got high marks in her final Exam.

Not great, but better than A1 version
Firstly, for those of you that are not aware, there are various types of IELTS exams (IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training are completely different to this one- IELTS Life Skills). You might want to check what type of exam you need to do before purchasing, as this one is not at all relevant to the IELTS Academic or General Training exams. My husband is going to be taking the A2 level test and we were looking for materials that would be useful to help him prepare. There isn't an A2 official test book yet, but I know the test is similar in some sections so thought this book would be worth getting. We also got the A1 book, which was pretty rubbish (see separate review on that site). To be honest, this book is lacking a lot of information and it doesn't have any supplementary exercises to help you prepare. It feels more like a booklet than a book as it only has 60 odd pages. However, unlike the A1 book, it does not repeat the questions so it is a little bit better than that one at least! It has some useful tips such as what the exam format will be like, the fact that you are allowed to make notes and write down the questions etc. It only has four sample tests, which means there is not a lot content wise. A lot of the pages are taken up with pictures which felt like a bit of a waste of space. The audio is available to download online but to be honest it's a little fiddly. I managed to do it without any problems (although at one point it kept just saying 'Click on Resources' and nothing would come up), and at B1 level you might be fine, but if the person using this is hoping to do the A2 level or is not particularly adept at technology they might find it a bit fiddly. The audio says you can access it for a year, although I think you can download it from the site, or buy the CDs if you need to. All in all, it's a bit disappointing, but considering Cambridge English materials are often very pricey I probably should have expected this from them as it was only ยฃ10. I should add that Global ELT publishers have a B1 version too. I haven't purchased it, but if you're doing the exam you might find it useful. The A1 version of the Global ELT book has a lot more content- listening exercises, speaking exercises, as well as 5 practice tests so I imagine the B1 book might have more content too. I've written a review on that one too, so you might find that useful if you'd like to know more about their books. Good luck with your exam!

I recommend this book more than "Pass The B1 Speaking and Listening English Test For British Citizenship and settlement ". The real test was same style and similar questions as this book.

Good to give an idea of speaking test
Rather disappointing. I was expecting complete tests not only the speaking part.
