Late to the party on this band, but totally fell in love with this CD. There isn't a weak song on it. After getting it, I listened to nothing but this for weeks. My ranking: Take This is sheer perfection, and still listen to it almost daily. Resurrection, Basement, Mourning Star, Stardust, Syndrome, Babylon and then all the rest. I just can't convey how much I love this CD!

I did not get around to buying this CD until now. A mistake of a delay, even though I had heard a few cuts in the past. This one is right up there with Starset, another fave. This has got to be one of the freshest sounding groups that I have heard. I love it when I score a gem. It's happened often lately since I rely on Amazon reviews to point me into the right direction and also related artist outputs. It's too early for me to comment specifically. However, these guys are over the top great. I will enjoy listening more first. Those first listens are always on over the ear headphones. I am into production values as well as musical content, over the ear headphones are most revealing.Honestly, I felt this way after the first listen and it hasn't changed.THIS IS A VISCERALLY SONIC TOUR. THERE IS A THEME. YOU INTERPRET IT. TAKE THIS.

This is the only album I've purchased in full.I've only ever purchased songs individually. Gemini Syndrome was something of an accident—I heard about it through a concert that Starset played at and was curious enough to check out one of Gemini Syndrome's songs on YouTube. Pleasure and Pain was probably exactly what I needed to hear to want more.I have to agree with all the reviews that put this album up as unique and refreshing, because it is. It's a sound and theme and atmosphere that I haven't heard any other band bring to the field, and it finds just the right balance that works for me. The mood is definitely something to consider—not too profane, not glorifying, it's an experience that can't really be expressed with words. Just go listen to Pleasure and Pain or Stardust. That's all you'll need to decide whether you want to dive in.Oh, and the physical copy is beautiful. The artwork that comes with the lyrics is awesome (thank you Cameron Gray) and I definitely don't regret getting the gorgeous CD.

This is a very good debut rock album. It's nice to hear something refreshing nowadays with the majority of music being stupid. I can actually listen to this album straight through and like it. While listening to it straight through reveals eventually the shortcomings of this album, I can see that if this band expands or improves upon some of their shortcomings, their next album will be phenomenal. Overall, this is one of my favorites from 2013.By the way, I do like some heavy metal, like Devil Driver, especially when I work out. Among other bands, Tool, old Rage Against The Machine, A fanstastic Metal band named SEVEN (Check them out if you haven't ever heard of them), and even the new Black Sabbath. So I am not new to music or metal and I like what I see out of this band so far.

Where to begin? I caught wind of this band on this very site actually, only about 2 months ago. I checked them out on youtube, looking up videos, interviews, etc. to see if this is band I could get into both lyrically and musically. I am a fan of all genres, from death metal to acoustic, despised icon to dashboard confessional. Let me tell you, this album is special. It's AMAZING. They play their own brand of hard rock, kinda sounding similar to Tool in some places, more like sevendust in others. The production on this thing is absolutely flawless, really amazing. I feel like these dudes are really doing something different, while still being marketable to fans of run of the mill rock bands, if that makes sense. Pick this up as soon as possible.

I'm a lifelong music fan since the 1970's and I've seen and heard a lot of bands. My musical tastes go anywhere from Van Halen to Five Finger Death Punch and everywhere in between. I sampled this album on Amazon a couple of weeks ago and bought it immediately. These guys are just so talented I couldn't believe it. I've had it on repeat ever since. Every once in a while a band will come along and you just know they're a cut above most. These guy have IT. Songwriting and performance is AWESOME. I'll be seeing these guys at Rocklahoma on Memorial weekend and can't wait. Do yourself a big favor and buy it immediately. You will not be disappointed. I would give it 10 stars if I could.

I first heard Gemini Syndrome on my Music Choice TV channels and it was the song "Left of Me". I liked it so much that I purchased the whole album. Lots of heaviness, lots of melody, and a voice that sounds distinctly like Maynard from Tool. I can understand why they get compared to so many awesome bands. It's a hodgepodge of styles rolled into one kick-ass CD. My current favorite song on the album is "Take This", which is more melodic than the other tracks. Congratulations, Gemini Syndrome, on a successful debut album!

This album is quite simply brilliant!!! If there is a better album opener than "Pleasure and Pain" then I haven't heard it yet, while listening to this album I have heard elements of Disturbed, Tool, Bullet for my Valentine but at the same time they have a sound that is all their own.I am a massive rock and metal fan with a CD collection of well over 1100 albums, but this album has been on continuous rotation since I bought it a month ago and it is still awesome.If you like well written, head banging melodic metal then do yourself a favour and check these guys out, I guarantee you will love it!!

Went searching for something new and found this band.Nice find! Lets start with Stardust, awesome...love the chorus...the beat is infectious from start to finish...Oh boy, lets talk the next song, Morning Star...unbelievable start...chanting at its best...nice lyrics, voice and music...Left of Me...enchanting...vocals again are supreme...loving the screaming...The whole album is laced with excellent vocals, screaming lyrics, and powerful music. What more can you ask?

Eine Band in der Schnittmenge aus Metal und Rock. Mit eigenem Sound (ich fühle mich an keine andere Band erinnert) und charismatischem Gesang: Igendwo zwischen unaufdringlichem Pathos und Wut (Screamoparts) Kann ich durchweg anhören ohne mich zu langweilen. Die Songs haben klar übersichtliche Strukturen und sind so auch wirklich Songs, keine wirren Riffcollagen. Wer auf Rock/Metal mit Tiefgang steht sollte unbedingt reinhören.
