Normally I would be taking ibuprofen a few times a day whilst skiing to help with the swelling but I am trying to eliminate all pain killers and anti inflammatory plills from my system...........they cant be any good for us!!!Don't get me wrong, I am not pain free after taking tumeric, after all I have severe osteoarthritis in both knee's and very little cartildge left. But what I am saying is, that for me at least, I believe that I am getting a significant reduction of inflammation as a result of taking tumeric with bio perine. I do also take other measures to help prevent/allevaite my sypmtoms such as cutting out sugar (I find that sugar causes inflammation and there is certainly a lot of evidence to support this). In addition I try to consume lots of good healthy fats, definitely no or as little as possible omega 6 fats and as much as possible omega 3 fats including a good supplement. And of course try to keep the weight off as much as possible...a BMI of 25 or less. Finally I try to make sure that I go to the gym and do some High intensity Strength Training to keep the muscles as strong as possible. Single set per body part to failure...only takes 20 mins but that all you need; my knee's couldn't handle all that pounding of multiple sets or treadmill/cross trainer stuff!!The research for the anti inflammatory properties of tumeric is pretty sound although it needs the black pepper extract to make it as 'bio available' as possible. It seems to work for me but everybody is different.......... but hey, you won't know unless you give it a try.........just don't expect a miracle cure..........they don't exist..........and make it part of some lifestyle changes........you cant keep shovelling down sugar and bad fat's and expect a bit of tumeric to counter act the pro inflammatory effects of those two evils!!! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Interesting if a little embarrassing ! *by F***S on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 23 February 2018* Well.... Where do I start ? These tablets were purchased due to my arthritis in my fingers. I have tried numerous other supposed remedies but none of them have had any effect. I was prepared for these to go onto "failure" list but tried them first.I took these for approximately 3 weeks and thought how much better my hands and fingers had become. I woke in the morning not having to submerge them in hot water so that I could carry out the morning tasks. They felt a whole load better throughout the day.... Bingo!The only problem I found was that I got an ever increasing amount of very painful wind. The pain at some times was incredible. I stopped taking them for a few days and the wind ceased however the finger pain and stiffness returned after a couple of days. I weighed up the positives and negatives and have decided that I can stand a bit of pain that goes over pain that doesn't. As a result I started taking the Turmeric again.... My fingers are getting better again. This is the first thing I've used that has worked for me.The turmeric comes in a capsule that is an average size and you need to take three capsules a day. I have arthritis and Turmeric Curcumin in studies has shown can help treat symptoms of arthritis and is in some cases more effective than anti-inflammatory drugs plus suffering from depression that requires medication, these capsules in a study in 60 depressed patients showed that curcumin was as effective as prozac in alleviating the symptoms of depression, so anything that might relive this symptoms I thought I would give it a try and hopefully allow me to reduce or come off medication.Out of the sites selling Turmeric Curcumin, some with good ratings, why did I choose Taka? It’s Organic and in a one a day capsule form. It has Bioperine important for the absorption and no nasty artificial ingredients.
