Review: Amazing product - If you’re thinking of purchasing this product don’t hesitate. It is amazing. My Irish setter with his long curly hair under his ears had to go to the vets to get some matts shaved out as they were matting into his skin. Since using this product we have not had any matts. If i find a small tangle, I massage this into the hair and leave it for awhile and then comb it out. His hair is now silky smooth and tangled free
Review: Amazing Product - This is by far the best detangler I have used on my cockapoo. Knots just melt away and makes brushing time much less stressful. My cockapoo is not a fan of having anything sprayed on her. I put it into a misting bottle and she doesn't even notice it being applied to her fur. I went with unscented as she also doesn't like smellys. Will definitely continue using this product. It is more expensive than some other brands but its well worth it

## Questions & Answers

**Q: The label says it will not soften any coat type – does this mean the coat won’t be soft after use?**
A: No, what that means is that the texture will not be compromised. If you have a coarse coated dog, the hard, wiry texture will not soften, maintaining the breed standard.

**Q: Do I use a conditioner before applying After U Bathe?**
A: You can, but it’s not necessary. It depends on what you are trying to achieve. If you are using a conditioner for a specific need such as nourishing a dry coat with Miracle Moisture, then you would follow with After U Bathe to lock that treatment in.

**Q: Is this a conditioner or a replacement for a conditioner?**
A: It is a sealing conditioner. If you are using the conditioner as a treatment, you would follow with After U Bathe. If you need to seal in shampoo qualities, such as White On White, this can be your conditioner.

**Q: Don’t all conditioners remove shampoo residue?**
A: No, they do not. If shampoo residue is left in the coat, it can weigh the coat down, increase the chance of matting and can cause irritation.

**Q: Can this be used on cats?**
A: Yes. Use after shampooing with your favorite Chris Christensen shampoo. Use on cats from 8 weeks and older.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best Detangling Spray for My Wire-Haired Dog – Lightweight & Effective
*by B***I on 28 June 2026*

My dog used to hate being brushed — he would literally run away the moment he saw the brush. I tried several detangling sprays before finding Chris Christensen Ice on Ice, and it’s by far the best. It’s the reason I can now brush him easily without chasing him around the house. I use it daily: I spray it directly on his coat once a week and on the brush the other days. It’s lightweight so it doesn’t make his hair greasy, yet effective enough to keep his coat shiny and moisturised. Brushing is now a dream, and it makes quick work of any knots or tangles.
