Will this work with any brand wired in chime with a transformer?

Yes. I have a Friedland Illuminated bell push with a different make transformer and chime.

is this illuminated with led and can it be connected to the original transformer supplying 8 v - 12 v AC

The internal light is a filament lamp and on the packaging is stated 8v. It will work at 12v, but this will reduce the life of the lamp.

Is this bell suitable for PVC door?also replacing old unlit door bell push. Do not understand about transformer Is this necessary?

I have the door bell fitted to the brick work at the side of the door. The transformer is required for the bell and chime so that you can hear the bell inside the house.

Will this work with a 3 volt battery chime?
