yes, the product is suitable for both fabric, canvas and leather or rubber

Will this clean grey trainers or just white?

It didn't clean white trainers. Not sure about grey.

Does it come off if they get wet in the rain

The whitener seems to stay well on the canvas part of my trainers. It isn't very long lasting on the synthetic areas. Only worn in light showers so don't know how it would behave if totally soaked. My trainers are yellowing slightly - due to age/sun/dirt? The 'painted' canvas areas have stayed white - but that means 'painting' them completely or living with colour variation. Hope this helps
