IMCO is besides Ronson, USA the oldest Lighter manufacturer in existence. Julius Meister founded 1907 in Wien the 'Österreichische Knof- und Metallwarenfabrik Julius Meister & Co', which was later shortened to IMCO. It mainly produced buttons and military needs. But after WW1 the demands stopped and so IMCO started creating lighters since the 1918's, taking used bullet shells as first lighter casings. Ref 1800010
