Genmitsu 4040-PRO CNC Router Machine for Metal Acrylic Cutting Milling

Setup was quick and very easy, this is actually the second I purchased because I like the first one so much. It is very user friendly even if you’re a beginner, it produces professional quality results. I purchased upgrades for this machine to include x and y axis extension and routers as well. I had one issue with one of my offline controllers but customer support was excellent and quickly replaced the defective controller. I am impressed with the quality of machine you get for the money, their customer support is also top notch. I did my first carve right after I received and assembled my machine, it performed better than expected, lower noise level than other machines I’ve used, the carve was very precise and detailed and the machine is very solid with no detected play I. Any of axis.

I’m new to the cnc world but so far I’m completely satisfied with this machine. Easy to assemble and use.

Seems to be surprisingly great quality, frame is solid and it assembles easily. My only concern is the quality of the wiring for the spindle and z-probe. My power connector doesn’t fully seat in the machine leaving a solid 1/4” of the plug exposed. It is a tight connection and I haven’t had any issues with it, just seems odd to have it stuck out so far. I think this is absolutely worth the price, If I would do it again I’d skip the 4040-pro and get the 4040-pro max. Glad they offer upgrades!

I purchased this machine on cyber Monday in 2023. I was looking for a CNC that had more stability, accuracy and repeatability than the belt driven machine I currently had at the time. I wasn't disappointed. The packaging was about the best I've ever seen, assembly was a breeze and it was square and level right away. The screw drive and linear rails make this quite rigid and reliable. I used it for about ten months when it stopped working. After contacting customer support and describing the symptoms it was determined that the power supply went bad. They sent me a new one free of charge which solved the problem completely. I can't say enough good things about the machine and level of support I received.

Update. i finally have a part but now motor making noise when machine not moving. Do not buy this product. Update. They sent parts but not ALL of them needed. Apparently they don’t realize motor knobs are attached to the lead screws which are stuck. Which is why I have problem to begin with. Thanks for wasting another 3 weeks . RUN Waiting 2 weeks on parts only to find they sent wrong parts. I can’t use upgrade kit bc lead screws stuck in couplers. They sent more couplers. Support out of country so the whole wait 24 hours. Parts out of country too so wait 2 weeks for part. You will need to buy new bits immediately. You can’t use out of box without spoilboard as spindle will not reach. You will need to upgrade spindle. The Z probe connection is nightmare. The support is limited unless you Facebook user group. I do NOT Facebook. Wood class down 2 weeks now.

I received the machine in good condition, the packaging was superb,. unpackaged and assembled, clear directions. took around 30 minutes to set up. the software (Candle) that came with it is a bit lacking, but I use G-sender and V-carve Pro. This is my first desktop machine, so I am going to try my best to capture everything I have experienced so far. Pros: Good quality main frame, pretty stiff for a desktop Good packaging Great customer service Easy to assemble with easy to follow instructions Very quiet Cons: Extremely underpowered, most bits require 12000 or more rpm to work in optimal range, the spindle is only turning 9000 Upgrade parts are almost as expensive as purchasing a new machine( spindles, extensions Etc.) would recommend the 1.5kw VFD spindle or trim router if you will be carving anything thicker than 1/4" pine. The stock spindle struggles to cut though on profile settings, deep v-carves and 1/4" clearing pocket cuts. V-bits and End mills that have a 1/4" shank are unusable with the stock spindle. Very little adjustments to correct Tram and squaring Final thoughts: The machine advertises that it can cut wood, metal, acrylics and other soft materials, what they don't tell you is that the machine will not cut smoothly with 1/4" bits or anything thicker than 1/4" and that is testing the limits. All in all, it is a good starter machine, a little pricey for beginners, but bear in mind this isn't a commercial machine, if you are doing small carves with minimal depths this is a great machine. If you are seriously trying to carve heavier materials look to the more robust (and more expensive machines). If I can afford to purchase the 1.5kw VFD spindle I will return and revise the review. If Genmitsu/Sainsmart would like to donate the spindle set up, I will put the machine through its paces again, and give another review with the upgraded machine.

I purchased originally 3018 pro but one bearing came out completely from wherever it was seated and returned it. I purchased this one and what a difference! Everything fits, frame is rigid and everything worked out of box in Easel on my 2011 iMac. I had two minor issues at the beginning. After first homing base board was squirted along X and Y axis with most likely oil from bearings. It's a cosmetic issue - but you want get second board and they are not cheap. Second issue - one of bolts completely unscrewed during job, and spindle started to twist in the slot. I caught it early, tightened bolts and no problem since them. One downside of this machine is relatively weak spindle. It will cut through plywood and engrave details that will blow your mind. Unfortunately if your planning to do anything with real wood - better plan for router upgrade. And this is also not cheap. After 3018 fiasko i was considering 4030 proverxl v2 - but it's not worth paying 2.5x for it - especially that you still need to upgrade to real router for proper wood work.

Bijna 2 jaar geleden gekocht en ontzettend veel plezier van. Een uitstekende machine, makkelijk te monteren en (na enig inleeswerk) makkelijk te bedienen. Ik gebruik de CNC voor het maken van klokken: van de tandwielen tot de frames. Dit deed ik eerst met een electrische figuurzaag maar met deze CNC gaat het veel nauwkeuriger en sneller. Daardoor kan ik meer tijd besteden aan het ontwerp. Vooralsnog grotendeels met hout gewerkt maar recent ook met acrylglas. Machine is nauwkeurig, bijna onderhoudsvrij (af en toe even smeren) en heeft een mooi werkbereik. Sainsmart heeft een goede klantenservice voor zowel technische vragen als aftersales. Mijn Z-probe werkte niet meer en ik kreeg gratis een nieuwe toegestuurd. Uitstekende service!
