USB 3.0 to VGA Adapter, USB to VGA Video Graphic Card Display External Cable Adapter for for PC Laptop Windows 10/8.1/8/ 7/ XP

This adapter comes with a mini disc with only one file, a driver, but absolutely no setup instructions. Don't expect windows to find the right driver (I'm using windows 10 version 1709), use the driver provided by Fresco. I blew out one of my old VGA monitors when I plugged it into this adapter straight out of the box. Then I got wise and used the driver file provided in the box to search google and find this is a FL2000 adapter mfg. by frescologic.com. There I found the very latest driver and enough info in their forum to set this adapter up properly. It works great on my other VGA monitors. I also had to use a powered USB hub as the computer's USB hub could not provide enough power to run the adapter after I plugged in the VGA monitor. I knew I likely needed a powered USB hub after I read technical troubleshooting notes at frescologic.com. Be sure you check the specifications of your VGA monitor so you know the supported resolutions and refresh frequency rate. Then open the Fresco graphics properties in windows to set a compatible resolution before you plug in your monitor. I would rate this adapter 5 stars if it came with written instructions, a model # and support site link in the box.

After plugging in the adapter and downloading the driver per the instructions, my computer connected to the projector I was attempting to use, but would only show a black screen. I tried different resolutions and other fixes, but could never get the screen to work. I returned the item, and a few days later noticed I was having trouble with some of my computer's programs. Some programs wouldn't open, and some would open but without full screens or menus. Just before doing a system recovery, I found the drive I had installed for this product and uninstalled it, restarted my computer, and all my programs were working again. I was irritated that the item didn't work, but very angry that the driver required messes up other programs. I would advise you to STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT! I'm not sure where all of the 5-star reviews came from, but that wasn't my experience at all.

I am very dissatisfied with the product. The included drivers do not work with Win10 so you have to download the newest drivers. The web site Amazon has displays a 404 error. I had to search for the driver and did find a newer driver to download. After installation my resolution was max 800x600. Found out to achieve 1920x1080 resolution the adaptor had to be in a USB 3.0 plug. At 1920x1080 resolution my monitor was blank, the max I could display was 1440x900.Very unhappy with results, stopped using within 24 hours.

Driver doesn't work, neither the one that came with it nor the one from the website. Tried everything - on both a Win7 and newer Win10 machine. Installation is just an endless loop of error messages. Returned.

Listen to the bad reviews on this one! This adapter is unable to operate a monitor above 1280x1024 on USB 3.0 without flickering or being otherwise completely unusable. Even at 1280x1024, all of your text will be in italics, and wiggling all over the place. PC has Win 10, 24GB ram, Xeon processor, SSD, etc. Monitors are 22" Dells. Tried Windows' default driver, tried the driver on the CD, and tried the latest version on the website all with the same results.

It gets the job done! However, it does suck USB 3.0 bandwidth, so if you have Hard drives on the same circuit, you'll see flickr. Use only in a pinch. Grab a real video card if you can.

I bought this hoping I could use it for my two-monitor setup. I was wrong. The driver included on the microdisk that comes in the package completely messed up a bunch of my graphics drivers to the point where I cant run a lot of my games or even use my 1st monitor or HDMI. It was working for about a day, however the resolution on the second screen was pathetically small and the driver wouldn't allow for me to change it.

Text is almost unreadable. There are shifts in the horizontal alignment that make vertical lines look jagged. See photos. On top of that, areas or the screeen often wiggle.Unusable for software engineering. Small text is often unreadable. Medium text often looks italic.I tried three monitors. I tried changing resolutions.
