Great for coding!
One of the microbit's greatest strengths is its accessibility. The device supports multiple programming languages, including block-based coding (similar to Scratch), JavaScript, and Python. This flexibility allows learners to start with simple drag-and-drop block programming and gradually progress to text-based languages as they gain confidence and skills. The online coding platforms, particularly MakeCode, provide an intuitive interface for creating programs. The ability to easily switch between block coding and JavaScript is particularly valuable, as it helps bridge the gap between visual and text-based programming. The platform also offers a simulator, allowing users to test their code before downloading it to the device. The microbit comes equipped with various built-in sensors and components, including buttons, an LED matrix display, accelerometer, and compass. These features enable students to create interactive projects without requiring additional hardware, making it an excellent starting point for physical computing and IoT concepts.

Could not upload ANY programs onto this. All it did was show the little starter program. Do NOT buy this product. We WILL send this back. And for all y’all Ryan Trahan fans, this product was *blakes lottaburger*.

These sell for $19.90 USD most places with a couple dollars for shipping.
The micro:bit V2 is a great starting place for kids (everyone really) to start learning programming and hardware. The V2 is used as the "brain" module for some great robot kits that teach data collection and motion control. Really .... every 5th grader should be getting one of these and start learning STEM. The rest of the world is getting too far ahead of us in the technology sector.Give your kid a leg up and get them a micro:bit and let them start learning. But don't overpay for the device, They are sold everywhere for about 19.90 ish. Some folks on this site are trying to take advantage.
