Give this series a chance because it doesn't disappoint!
Read via Kindle Unlimited. At first I wasn't sure about this series and decided to wait to review it when I read all the books available. When I saw April May as a name, I wondered what I was getting into, but I took a chance on the series and I liked the first book, although it seemed a little simplistic and not quite believable about April making such spur-of-the-moment decisions. However, as got more involved with the characters in the first and subsequent books I began to see a clever, easy-to-read, buildable series that held my interest. It was different from the usual paranormal cozies in that ghosts and so forth weren't the main focus. No one was a bumbling witch which was kind of a relief as that's becoming overdone in cozies. The characters in Ms. Walker's series developed slowly through each book and that intrigued me. The endings weren't really cliffhangers but they left you wanting to learn more about the characters and the town, and Emile and April. I liked that that she was a middle-aged woman and she had diverse friends. Mark isn't particularly interesting or a stand-out and seems to be the requisite "hot guy" who hasn't much to do with anything, but perhaps in a later book there will be more about him via more interaction with April. Whisk needs to appear more as he seems like a prop, but again he may have more to do in other books, but at least he does not overshadow the actual plot as in some cozies with animals. In the first three books, I had figured out the villain halfway through the book, but "Tea is for Tarot" was different. There were several who could have been the killer and I did halfway get who it was closer to the end, but through the "investigation" I learned more about the others who were suspects. "Tea is for Tarot" was my favorite of all the books mainly because it was more involved and as I mentioned, I learned more about the characters. This series is worth your time and makes for a good marathon reading sessions. It moves quickly, is written succinctly, and still leaves you wanting to learn more, especially about "Chef." Great concept!

Quite a good read
There were lots of twists and turns in this one. The mystery part of the story was really good. The romance part is a work in progress. We will see what happens in the next one.

Intriguing cosy mystery read.....
This is the fourth book in the cosy mystery series set in a haunted tearoom in Serenity Cove. April May opened the tearoom after buying the Victorian property earlier that year. Since then, there's been a spate of murders in the area, and April has helped solve every one. Then there is the resident ghost who lives in the kitchen, he teaches her how to cook. Chef Emile was the chef at the restaurant, which was the previous use for the house. He is still there, albeit he died many years before. April is the only one who can see or hear his ghostly form.To help increase trade during the slower months, April comes up with the idea of putting on a psychic fair. The Amazing Kaslov, who lives locally, was to be the star of the show, but someone decided his life was to end; but why? Who will end up in jail for his death? Each book in this series gets better, although I found this one a bit slow going until the middle. The books are best read in order of publication to preserve continuity of the characters and wider storyline.

Good Read
This is an engaging unique mystery set in a delightful seaside community with loving cherry characters. After happening upon book #1 in the series I couldn't stop reading. Can't wait to read the next one.

More Chef Emile needed!!!
I have mixed feelings after finishing Tea is for Tarot. On the one hand I loved it, on the other June 14th for the next book - Tea is for Traitor - to be released seems a really long way off. I for one need more Chef Emile! We've had snippets of his story but I need more!!
