I have an irrigatiia kit with droppers.this is the second year and several of the droppers will not drip. Am I just unlucky

Try taking the drippers out and soaking in white vinegar which is a natural descaler (works well in your kettle too)

Does the system stop if the butt runs dry?

It will continue to pump but the drippers will stop as there isn't any water- it is advised to keep the filter cone a few inches above the bottom of the butt so debris is not sucked and thereby blocking the drippers.

Can you set a timer to water when you want ie 2x day 2mins at the same time every day

There is a dial on the side of the unit with five positions - as you increase the number on the dial it will increase the duration of the time it is on although when it switches on will be dependant on whether it is a sunny day (more times) or a rainy day when it may not switch on at all.

Water but in dark area, to put the unit in the sun is about 30 feet, is this ok?

Maybe , is it longer than the cable supplied? If it is then then no They are also a bit susceptible to height of pump above the tank. I've got mine almost level, when I had it higher it never primed properly The drippers get clogged but other than that it's a brilliant system if not a taj overpriced
