Loose wire, no way to tighten. Doesn't cut. Returned.
The good:I really like the bamboo cutting board. It looks very sharp and seems well put together. However, the surface was a little rough, it should have had more sanding. Also, it's unsealed, so you would need to maintain it with a food grade mineral oil.The bad:It doesn't work.The wire is extremely loose, so it stretches around the item you're trying to cut and then falls out.The wire is wrapped around two small rings, which fit into tiny slots in the handle. The only thing holding any tension at all on the wire is the fact that it's wrapped around itself a few times. The more you use it the looser it will get.The handle / wire mechanism has no method for tightening the wire nor easily extracting the wire and handle for cleaning.If this came with a different kind of handle that could be tightened, this would be a pretty good product. However, it doesn't. I returned it.

Slicer part broke the first time I used it...at least I can still use the cutting board.

Not sturdy enough if you plan on using a lot.
Steel wire is difficult to tighten, therefore makes slicing more time consuming. Handle moves when using. Sent email to Home-X and never even received an acknowledgment from them. Returning to find one easier & sturdier. We buy cheese in 6lb rolls.

Very cheaply made product!
It's just a cheaply made product. Wire won't stay taunt! Hard to clean!

Cheaply made
You get what you pay for on this product. I liked it because it was bamboo but the wire will not stay in place and you can only cut very soft cheese with it. I would not buy it again
