That means that you can swap and change for seemingly endless variations of patterns which, if you think about it, double if you put them on the opposite feet. You will never have to worry about having matching socks again because they are supposed to be odd. These would be a great gift for someone who is fun and crazy but I would not recommend for someone who is serious and likes to have things in their place and the oddness of these short stockings that are designed to cover the lower calf, would no doubt irritate them intensely. This product is ridiculous.
